Shyvana Jungle - EVERYTHING You NEED To Know

In this live‑play tutorial, Perry Norman walks viewers through every essential aspect of jungling with Shyvana in League of Legends. He begins by defining Shyvana’s champion identity: a farm‑centric jungler whose passive grants armor and magic resist from camps, making consistent clearing the primary objective. He stresses three core principles – prioritize farming, never engage without her ultimate (R), and master movement/kiting. Perry then breaks down each ability, highlighting the double‑reset Q (auto‑Q, auto‑Q, auto‑Q) and its true‑damage third cast, the shield‑W, the slow‑E, and the fear‑inducing, damage‑boosting ultimate that can traverse walls. The guide contrasts two primary build paths: a bruiser‑style Trinity Force (with Shojin, Dark Seal, Jak’Sho, Mejai’s, Merc Treads) offering durability and consistent damage, and a squishier Kraken Slayer/Dusk & Dawn build that trades survivability for higher burst. He advises against early Sheen and stresses raw stat items for early Q scaling. Throughout a live match, Perry demonstrates how to apply these concepts: timing camps, reading enemy movements, using ultimate discipline (only engage when R is up), and leveraging map tempo to secure objectives like Rift Herald and Dragon. He narrates decision points such as when to recall, when to pressure split‑pushers, and how to adapt to teammates’ itemization and positioning. The commentary repeatedly emphasizes that Shyvana’s strength lies in macro‑play – controlling gold/experience lead, out‑tempering opponents, and using her ultimate to create safe, decisive fights. The video concludes with a promotion for junglekingdom.gg, encouraging viewers to analyze their own games for improvement.

All right, guys, let's talk about everything you need to know about Shyvana. We're going to talk about abilities. We're going to talk about builds. We're going to talk about champion identity, how we play into other champions. While we're playing, I'm going to be narrating and talking about all these things and showing you guys how to apply them live in-game right here. First things first, what does Shyvana want? Shyvana wants to farm and she needs to farm. She literally gets bonus armor and MR from killing camps. So if you are doing anything other than farming as your main priority, You're fucking up on Shyvana. Second thing, Shyvana does not want to fight without ultimate. If you fight without R, you are screwing yourself. You're probably going to lose the game. So you don't fight early game, and when you have your ultimate and you use it and you get a kill, you don't keep fighting. You stop fighting after you use your ultimate. And the third and final and last thing is you always need to understand how to kite, position, and use movement. Okay, I know that Shyvana can be a pretty straightforward champion. Just click on them, right-click. Like stat check in a way. But if you really want to take Shyvana to the next level, you need to have good movement. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about Shyvana's abilities real quick. Okay, so Shyvana gets 2 resets on her Q and she does auto Q, auto Q. That's all you need to know. Auto Q, auto Q, it does some AOE, it does a lot of damage. Okay, her W is a nice little shield that blows up at the end and deals some damage. The shield is just a nice quality of life thing to have and it kind of, it kind of just makes Shyvana a bit tankier. And her E is, is a slow and it's like a projectile. That deals damage. Like, cool. Her kit is completely reliant on her Q. So make sure you're autoing people and you're doing the right thing by autoing them and you're spacing them well. Now, your ulti, whenever you hit anybody, you fear them. And it's a pretty big range. It can go over walls. It's a big dash. And the big thing is when you use your ulti, you need to be really intentional about how you're using it. I'll show you guys later what I mean by being very intentional with your ulti. But your ulti is really strong because it enhances your W, just makes you deal more damage, heal some more HP. Your E is like a bit stronger as well, same amount of slow but a little more damage. And then your Q is the big thing. Instead of getting 2 Qs, you get 3 Qs. So auto Q, auto Q, auto Q. And that last Q right there, that one is explosive. That one does true damage and it really hurts. That's where a lot of your damage Okay, so that's Shyvana's kit in a nutshell. Like I mentioned earlier, your passive gives you armor and MR. We know her identity. We know her abilities. We know how she kind of wants to play. Now let's talk about her builds. Okay, so a lot of you guys are seeing a Triforce build and a Kraken Slayer build. So it's Triforce into standard, is Triforce into like Shojin and like kind of tanky. You go for like, like bruiser, bruiser style Shyvana. And then there's like a Kraken Slayer Dusk and Dawn build. I would say choose one. Don't try to build both. Um, I'm gonna show you guys the Trinity Force build this game because it's better. But in general, depending on how you like to play, choose between the two. I'm gonna explain them real quick. Bruiser is generally more consistent because you just have more HP. You can just play the game a little more fluidly and your damage is not reliant on great movement, which is why Bruiser for lower elo players who don't really control their character well Is generally going to be better. Now, the one thing that makes the Kraken Slayer Dusk and Dawn build really strong is it has some AP in it. But the main thing about that build is it's just a bit more damage. It's— you, you just hurt people faster. You deal— you do your combo faster, you deal more damage. And so if you're going for like a squishier build but higher damage, you're still gonna be tanky. Uh, but if you're going for squishier build, high damage, and then go for the Kraken Slayer one. I'm gonna show you guys a try first one. I'm gonna explain like why this is so strong, how it works, what's what's gonna like make this powerful as we go. You guys saw me recall in base. Do not buy the Sheen. It is not worth it. You want the actual stats. Shyvana is not a champion that can proc Sheen extremely easily in the early game. You need points into your Q so your Q refreshes the cooldown faster. What you want is raw stats. Super important to not mess that up. Okay, I'm gonna look to maybe gank mid here again. I just have no camps, so like why not? Like Oh, that's why not. Okay, well, it was an angle. It's like it's completely reliant on what my mid laner does, and because my mid laner fucked that up, I don't get to control the bot side crab, which, which really blows, uh, because now my game can get exploded. What I mean by that is if the Talon wants to try to invade me after the crab, I'm cooked, but He shouldn't be able to because I have my Krugs to clear first. So now that we have, you know, Shyvana's identity, her build path, and her skills, what are we looking to do as we play? So in this game, we have a top laner who's losing and a mid laner who's like farming pretty far behind and an ADC who's farming pretty far behind. So this is one of those games that's not easy. Very, very, very, very, very hard game. And what we're trying to do is, first things first, we need to be safe here. What we're trying to do is we're trying to wait for the enemies to make mistakes. So while we farm, while we generate an advantage for ourselves, and we just maintain a lead in terms of gold for ourselves, we wait for the enemies to do something dumb. Shyvana is a champion that you can't really hard force a lot of plays. There are some champions that can go really deep and control the game that way and like make the fights happen in a very, very, very aggressive way. Shyvana is not like that. Shyvana is all about controlling the pace of the game. Using your farm and tempo advantage and lead. So if you're not good at farming, if you're not good at reading the map, this champion is going to be harder and harder and harder. The real reason why these champions are so strong though is because as long as you're good at reading a map and reading the game and like good game knowledge, like you don't need crazy mechanics. I know I mentioned mechanics are helpful and good. It's not make or break. Like you'll still be fine. Okay, so this enemy top laner is going to recall here. We'll take this Gromp. I probably want to recall and just buy the Phage. I might need to stay here though. Yeah, now Camille used Ignite. This guy hits Flash. I missed that, I missed that, I missed that, I missed that. I'm gonna, I'm gonna be so sad. Oh, I'm so sad. Like, the, the Kalista ping that Camille used Ignite And I was like, man, my top laner's been killed 3 times. That guy probably doesn't have Flash, right? And he does. And that's gonna bite me in the ass because that's a lot of gold here. And that, like, that concerns me. Like, can I carry this game? I think we'll be fine. We'll be okay. We know Camille has no Flash now for sure. We know— does Xerath ping that Syndra used Flash? Okay. We have no ulti right now, so fighting is a lot harder. And I'm kind of scared because Syndra's walking at me. No, she's not. It's pretty, pretty sad.
I'm gonna go for it.
But it's all good. Okay, another reason why this game— let's talk about builds real quick for a sec. So I want to talk about it. Um, you need to go Trinity Force this game because our entire team is squishies. So if you don't go Trinity Force, your entire team is just gonna get blown up and you have no way to team fights. That's why I have to index into this type of build this game. It's very, very, very specific to the game.
I fear nothing.
I mean, there's a world here where my Kalista keeps pressuring And then I can go play into the bushes with her. And I think I'm gonna play for this because my ulti is back up now, right? So I can actually play and tango. Bro, my Shyvana— my Kalista didn't ult me there.
Okay.
Beautiful. I played with my Kalista. Okay, we found the angle. Okay, nice. Okay, we're gonna get some camps here as well, which is huge. Shyvana's mid lane as well. Beautiful. Okay, so like you guys saw there, guys, my ultimate is really powerful. Like, like, ulti on this champion is the difference maker. Okay, when you have your ulti, you can get a lot. You can get a lot done. I'm going for these camps here because I know that that Talon is dead and I need these resources. I need them desperately. I don't know if I can actually kill that guy though. Nice, my E actually kills there. Big money moves right there. We have so much gold as well. The Talon's like, fuck, my entire topside is gone. What do I do? That guy is so fucking sad. I'd be sad too. I don't know if you guys noticed, but my Kalista was level 7 here. And she got level 8. She just didn't have her ulti skilled this entire time. I didn't realize. She just literally did not skill her ulti. But she got level 8 from the Camille kill and then was able to ult me to kill the Talon as well. That was beautiful. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. We're gonna go for Triforce. We're gonna go for something interesting here. I'm gonna show you guys. I'm gonna go for a little bit of a Dark Seal.
Oh, nice.
And then we're gonna play for the regular Shojin here as well. I do not want that. She's dead again. Like, like, Kalista actually has a Hubris because she got 2 plates, I guess, and, uh, assists. So she's not weak, but by no means is she strong in this game at all. Now I wonder if Camille's gonna take a plate and then run, or 2 plates. Okay, at this point now, if I use my E correctly, she will be slowed. And then now we can definitely go ahead and look to kill him like that. Beautiful. And I think the, the Kalista is too far away to make it to this wave. So let's just take it all as well. Like, let's just, let's just eat. I'm gonna put points into my W and I want to drop my form, grab this crab. Beautiful. Drop my form so I can start stacking for my next form immediately. And I think Talon might be in my bot side. I think it's very likely that this Talon is like, I'm gonna try to like take camps back. I lost my entire top side. So he's gonna be in the bot side, which means I'm— I can take his top camps. And I'm super strong myself. I'm gonna get my pet complete as well here. My Kalista has ulti as well. Okay, so Talon came back top side. I don't want to fight anymore. No, no, no, because I have no ulti, right? So if I was any other champion, I'd want to go fight here. I'll be 1000% honest, but I don't have my ulti, right? So I need to wait for my ulti, but like, until I have it, Guys, I can't do anything, right? So you have to be so disciplined around having your ulti. Otherwise you just lose. You just lose the game.
Armor is not so easily shed.
Okay. In this position, I know my Camille, my Kalista is probably going to die. It is what it is. I need to just farm my bot camps because I have no ulti still. And the new Shyvana, you get, you get fury way slower than you did in the past. So the game is sort of a little bit different because of that. The fury rate that you gain is a little bit slower. Look, it's 0.5, 0.75 to 1. I think before it was 1, 1.5, and then, and then 2. Something much higher. I know, I know, I know that at the very least. Okay, we want to take control through the bot side here. I am super duper strong. I want to just get into this bush here, have all this vision control, have all this literal control. And I feel strong enough to do this because the person who has the most gold on the enemy team Is their Camille, and I have the most gold on my team, so I can confidently play for this.
Holy smokes.
Oh wait, um, I see this. Okay, so the thing is my Xerath has to go catch a mid wave, so I need to like mindfully think about his mid wave. I don't want to have to use my flash here or my ulti, so discipline with my ulti, right? Very big here. Smite him to kill him. But you guys see that, right? Disciplined my ulti to allow me to have more opportunity on the map to get more. Okay, we want this top crab and we want to like look to restart our clear all the way towards the bot side. Look at my passive here, guys. I have 15 armor and 15 MR, and it just like— it looks like not a lot, but it really is a lot. I'm gonna ult to guarantee this kill here. Wait, wait, what? Oh, that guy got scared. What the hell? Instead of trying to dive and playing for that, I'm just going to play for the guaranteed, the guaranteed objective here, which is, put simply, the Herald. And I want to use one full combo for my true damage and then get off my form. Get off this form. Okay, so this Kalista might be inting in terms of like, like the scoreboard, but when you look at the CS, she's actually up in CS. I'm going to go for the Herald. And when you look at the way she's playing, it's like she's doing fine. So you can't write somebody off just because they're not— like, just because they're— hold on, kill this guy. Okay, fight back a little bit. I have no form, right? So I'm gonna walk out here. The Talon showed up. I was ready to leave the entire time. I wasn't trying to overstay there whatsoever. Um, but yeah, you need to look at the scoreboard. You look at items. The items is a big thing. The items is like the key thing there that I'm evaluating because my Kalista's not actually that weak based off items. But look here now, guys, right? Like, I am just outtempoing the Talon by so much in terms of the value that I'm getting from all the camps that I've been killing, the types of plays that I've been making all around the board. And this is what makes Shyvana so, so, so powerful, is the types of plays you make as you play and you run around the map and you put pressure. I have 3K gold. I definitely do want to recall, but I'm still significantly stronger than their bot lane. And my, my bot lane's doing decently as well, so I could look one time right here if they walk up at all. Okay, looks like we're just gonna go grab the wave. Okay, they should be able to kill him themselves. I'll fucking take the kill though so I can get my Dark Seal stacks. Oh, never mind. Okay, we see Kalista up in the top side. Now, in terms of what boots I go, I'm probably gonna go for a Merc Treads, but we want to get all these defensive stats that we can. The reason why I'm thinking about a Merc Treads this game is because they have Syndra, Viktor, Sona, and even Camille has some CC as well. What's the best Shyvana build? They're just all a little bit different, all serve different purposes. Bro, what is this creep block?
Godlike.
Okay, okay, so that's up here. So what we can do is definitely just play for this because I have the remainder of my form. Okay, we'll play for all this here, and then what I want to do is pressure towards the mid lane as well. I want to be relatively careful I'm up 3 levels on this guy here. Full combo chunk him, chunk his ass there. Kill that with my Smite. I don't have— my Xerath is kind of far, and I'm gonna go back to my camps. I have no ulti. So notice how like I'm just chunking. I can't kill anyone. I'm not playing to kill anyone. I'm just chunking them. I'm gonna go back to my camps. I'm just threatening them, getting them scared, and then I'm done. Like, that's it. Like, it's a little chunk, peekaboo, hello, and then I'm playing for your camp. I get your camp, and then I'm back to my camps already. It's just fluid. Like, it's like every time I have my camps up, I'm playing for them and I'm on them. I have no form right now, so I'm not going to join the fights. And once I get my form, that gives me time to grab my camps here as well. The thing is about this Viktor, I want to kill him. If I have to use my ulti, it's not ideal.
These horns should not hide beneath an ordinary mask.
But I don't hate— I don't hate having to use my ulti here either. Okay, cuz then I can just ulti And then use the rest of my form to get the get the objective. They played it in a way where it was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! I don't have my ult, so I don't have a smite, so we have to just hit it. Okay, I'm out of my form. I have to flash here. I have Kalista ulti as well. I play for the guys above us. It's easier than going deeper. I'm playing with the person my Kalista's on, essentially. If I go for the person my Kalista's not on, things get way worse. I might be able to hunt this guy as well. At least I can hunt for his camps, at least. Okay, he wants to do this, I'm sure. Well, then I got your small guys, which is worth some— that's like all the gold right there, by the way. The small guys are worth so much gold. Well, that's not good. All right, and look, we're back to our camps right away. I have no ulti, I can't fight. I'm going to go back to my camps. Like, this is the game, guys. Like, I'm back to my camps already. I clear as fast as I humanly possibly can. I, I'm going to go Do the exact same thing over and over and over again. I mean, there's gonna be a point in this game where like I'm so strong that I want to like purely fight them, but not yet because my teammates need items, my teammates need time, and I'm not full build. I'm not level 18. So I, I still got time to farm.
Insert game hack.
Right? So until you're really truly done, like you're the strongest point you could possibly be, keep farming and getting stronger. Now notice this, I have 30 armor and MR just built in, and I'm going armor and MR items too. I am going to be so tanky. Let's go for either some more defensive or more aggressive. We'll see. I'm going buy some HP for now, so, cuz HP helps you— helps your armor and MR have more effective value.
Do not fear the blaze within.
My, my Shyvana has— oh yeah, my Kalista has ulti. Okay, I think that's all that there is here. Okay, they deal all that damage. Good. I want to play for his camps now, and then I'm going to return to my camps after. Okay, Talon's here. Cool. I don't think my teammates are fine, so I'm gonna take his top camps, and I'm gonna rinse and repeat and grab any, any resources I can, and then just do it again. But impressive that you trust Kalista that much. Kalista might— like, that's the thing about score. Score is such a fake indicator. You need to have actual judgment about how the player's been playing. This Kalista has been playing fine. This guy's up 40 CS. Like, people dying is not the best indicator. It gives some nudge as to what's happening, but some people, they just die and they're dumb. But like, there's a more complete picture when you look at everything else that's happening. Uh, Clipse has ulted me multiple times, multiple occasions, multiple fights. That's been very high value. So I trust this guy because he's done it before. Okay, we're gonna keep farming here. Again, it's the same thing. It's the same game plan over and over and over again in this position. Because we want to get ourselves, uh, 5 items. Once we get 5 items, it's like, okay, maybe at this point, yeah, maybe farming so much now doesn't make any sense because we're full, full build. But we got ways away. Now this Kalista— not the Kalista, yeah, the Kalista— Camille is pushing into the top lane. And my teammates, like, I, I could technically just fight there with them, but I'm gonna go ahead and say this Camille deserves to die for everything that's been happening earlier.
Okay.
We'll kill this guy here, and then we'll go for the Dragon afterwards. And the reason why it's important to kill the Camille there is because that's dealing with the split pusher. And even if we lose a lot of stuff in this fight here, I don't actually mind because I'm gonna eventually be able to come and then kill everybody.
Beautiful.
Now we don't actually even need to do the objective like right away. We can go ahead and play for the turret first and then go for the objective after.
Your team has destroyed—
Coming, bro, I'm coming. Even though I want his entire topside, if it was any other champion other than a Xerath, if it was somebody a lot like stronger, I would have just left him to do it. Then I would have farmed his entire topside. Okay, so I should be able to buy a Jak'Sho and a Mejai's, which is exactly what I want. We should definitely play for the top side here. Should be 1050, 1150. Okay, cool. And I'm pretty much full build at this point now, right? I have no reason to farm anymore. So instead of farming, we're going to run around the map and we're going to fight.
Oh God.
All right, these guys are going to get clapped here. I have a Mejai's as well, bro. You're dead as shit. Beautiful. So we don't farm anymore because we are full build, pretty much. Uh, instead of farming, we want to go ahead and play aggressively around the map. So we're gonna push in one more wave. This guy did literally no damage to me. Zero. Now that we are full build, I have no reason to farm anymore. I'm literally just gonna sit in the enemy jungle and just be a nuisance. I'm gonna go back to farm. I'm not gonna get myself killed, but literally I'm gonna go sit in their jungle, take their camps. They have no resources. And help my teammates whenever they need help. That's my— that's my, like, that's my goal. That's my job. This guy needs help. Okay, I'm coming. We're trying to get to you. He's cooked as fuck.
Yeah.
I'm fine here. Like, you guys don't do damage to me for shit. This guy hit the cone for me. Into this guy. This guy doesn't deal damage to me again because I have my Jack Show proccing all the way. That's all my true damage right there. I have a full Jack Show going, so I'm just giga, giga, giga strong. Look at my stats right now, guys. I have 280. I, I look, look, my stats are just so goated, and then like I am just also really tanky. From all the HP. Then we can use our true damage on everything here as well. And yeah, the game should be over in a little bit. Instead of doing anything here, I'm just gonna hit the turrets. This guy, even, even like, even if they hit me a bunch, I'm just tanky. GG, guys. That is a full display of how to absolutely 1v9 your games on your Shyvana. You know how the champion works, you know what you want, and you guys saw me fight and apply every single concept that I'm talking about here. If you guys want to get better at the game and you are like, hmm, what should I do, Perry? How do I improve? Take a look at this. What I got for you right here, guys. junglekingdom.gg. You can search your account up right now and find what's going on in your games. This person won 3, 2, and 5. But what actually happened? They didn't play good. Why do we know they didn't play good? Because when you look at the review, they died here at 3 minutes. They weren't playing with their win con. They weren't playing with their strongest teammates. So there's things that this guy's doing wrong, even though there's a win. And even in the losses, you got to see direction of like what's happening. Okay, it's the best way for you to improve right now. I've been working on this for the last year pretty much with my brother, and that's where I've been for the last month. I love you guys so much. Get better at League of Legends. JungleKingNoob out. GG. I'll see you guys in the next one. Peace, peace.
