Xin Zhao DOESN'T NEED TO GANK To Win! - Xin Zhao Guide

Hey guys, it's Perry. Today we're playing some Xin Zhao in the jungle with the new T1 Xin Zhao skin. It's been out for a bit. I like the champ. I like the skin. Uh, I'm gonna be showing you guys what to do against a pretty hard composition as well. What are the Xin Zhao fundamentals? What are the rules? First things first on Xin Zhao, you want to make sure you're farming and playing for economy. I think a lot of the time people mistakenly play for ganks and they play for pressure. You actually really want to be playing for economy. Notice there's a little interesting path that I'm doing here. I'm starting my Raptors and I'm clearing up towards the top side. You're And I'm going to look for a recall. Why am I doing this over just like a standard full clear? I want to end up being in the bot side with a Long Sword, and I want to also potentially be able to gank top lane if top lane looks spicy. Now, the reason why top lane might have looked spicy is because they had double Ignite. So I wanted to be able to maybe help top side if there was an interesting situation in the top lane. We know that Sylas started his Raptors because that's down, and that means that we have to Ping our ball lane 100 times. Good. Now let's buy that extra long sword. I'm not gonna buy a pink ward. I never would recommend it. I hate people buying pink wards. Um, there's a chance the Sylas invaded my bot camps. I'm gonna say like, hey, if he invaded my bot camps, like, it is what it is. There he is. If my ball lane dies, my ball lane dies. But like, honestly, if these guys are going to extend and like keep chasing, like, I will come down there too. I should have probably walked through lane. My Blitzwing doesn't try to like hook here, which is pretty awful I'd say. My Blitzwing should always try to hook. Okay, the Sylas. I have a knock-up here in a second here as well. Great. Missed my W, but it's fine. Like, these guys are so fucked. What are they doing? What is that Sylas doing? I don't know. I mean, like, we have our Long Sword. We saw Sylas overstaying. We positioned in a way, we flashed in a way where this guy can't escape us. And then the game is just like completely fucking over for them. We have to be considerate of playing for the Raptor respawn. There it is. Both of us have started our Raptors. What I'll do is I'm going to play for his Raptor camp. Oh shit, hello. No, I'm not. I'm gonna play for 2 crabs then, because what that means is he has decided that he wants to defend his Raptor camp, which is good for him. But now his entire top side is pretty open, and if Blitzcrank comes into the top side, we can probably actually play for his top camps. But it kind of depends on the Shen as well. Shen probably wants to recall, right? So we can play for this guy. We can play with my Blitzcrank really easily, and we have an extra Long Sword, which is really nice as well. Hello! Sup, Diff? What up, bro? And that's why I'm like playing that way the entire time, because I know I have my support with me, so I'm happy to make that play happen. I should be good to take this. I'm gonna smite it and walk away. And this Sylas just like completely lost this game because he did a 3-camp into a bot gank. And this is why you don't do 3-camp into bot ganks, guys. It's so bad for your game. Now mid lane looks like a pretty juicy angle for us. Oh, they should have waited for me. That's fine. Yeah, I wanted them to wait for me. All good. If I came there, if I had the opportunity to come in, I would have— we would have been able to kill him. Beautiful, we got another kill. And I think that's why the longsword in the early game feels pretty nice. It's because it actually gives us some combat strength. And like, this game just feels So fucked for them. Uh, I, I like, man, I want to defend my bot camps though. This is like really dangerous. Uh, leaving my bot camps open like this absolutely sucks. And so what I'm gonna be left doing is probably like running around the map defending my camps like this, just because I want to make sure that Sylas can't invade me. Let's take this here. Go blue, go Gromp, keep farming up towards the top side. My bot lane, that doesn't look too pretty for us, but all good. I'm gonna bring this into the blue, into the bush. I don't want the Sylas to be able to smite this if he walks in and tries to invade. He has like no camps up, right? So he might want to be here. We're gonna clear our Gromp and then we're gonna reset our wolves and look for a recall. I doubt they hit the plate. There's no plate for them to play for anyway, so let's not worry about that. Uh, what we're going to do is probably buy a Sundered Sky and then we'll buy a Black Cleaver. We don't need Titanic. Uh, they have a bunch of melee champs, so Sundered Sky first item is just gonna be way higher value anyway. And yeah, we are— guys, we are so far ahead in this game. And a lot of these fights Just become easier and easier and easier because we have this like extra Long Sword. Like 10 AD goes a long way, which is why like you don't want to buy pinks either. Because buying a lot of pink wards means you are using gold on the wrong shit, essentially. Sylas is gonna go for this Gromp. Top lane dies. I probably should have pinged my top laner, let him know like, hey, look, Sylas could be up there. I should have pinged all the lanes, to be honest. But that's fine. Let's just go ahead and clear down towards the bot side. Oh, he actually did my Krugs. Good for him. He actually found the opportunity to find a camp in response. I should probably play for his Raptor camp, but overall really good from, really good from Sylas. But what that means is his Raptors are probably going to still be up anyway. So let's go ahead all the way ping here and ping here and just like, hey, I really want to play for this. Ekko landed a beautiful W. That was crazy. Now I don't want to get spotted technically, but I don't think it means too much. Okay, that's fine. It's not up. Here it is. I can just walk in and smite this shit. Doink. Thank you. And then to be honest here, like we can still keep fighting this guy. I know Shen has level six though, but the idea is like his red buff is probably going to be up. We have to wait here a little bit. Okay, these guys are fucking cooked. Okay, we can at least kill like almost all of them here because Shen just flashed. I'm not gonna lie, my Ekko like sitting there and AFKing and waiting and doing fuck all is like really disgusting. I'm pretty sure my Ekko just like did the most disgusting things possible. Pantheon gets multiple plates on the top side. All good. Silas gets a little bit further back into the game. Doesn't really matter. We're going to be up so much tempo here. Let's go play for the grubs. We want the grubs in this position when we have winning lanes. Winning lanes usually equals the grubs. Overall, I'm still very strong. And yeah, Silas has 5 Dark Seal stacks. We have to think about that. Killing him is very important. I think my W and my ulti there was just bad. I wanted to ult everybody else away from me, not the Silas away from me. I really wanted to kill the Silas. So all that felt really shit. And now what we want to do is still play for the topside camps. So If I can get my Blitzcrank to come here. Fail accounts can wait. Nice, we got the blue buff here too. I'm gonna keep fighting this guy as well. Beautiful, we just killed this guy. And why is this possible? Why am I able to play in a way like this? It's because I have my Blitzcrank with me. So because I keep having my Blitzcrank with me on these plays and I'm communicating, hey, you should come, hey, you should come, these plays are just so easy for me to make. And then here we want to go ahead and try to play for a dive. My Pantheon needs his stacks though. If I start with a knock-up here— yeah, this guy will die to Pantheon's full combo after. My Blitzcrank got a knock-up, I got a knock-up, everything was good there. We're sitting on a mil— like hundreds and thousands of gold here. Like, we need to recall, and then if the Sylas goes for the dragon or goes for like bot side We're gonna meet him there and we're going to completely stomp him and crush him in the bot side. So the idea is like, we don't actually have to pull the grubs. They think we're gonna go for the grubs, but in all honesty, we can go fight them hard. I have my full Sundered Sky. I have like Phage. Like, I want to play. Like, we should not be letting them do this dragon and we won't. We're gonna go fight them. Great. We got another kill here. We might be able to close Milio as well. Okay, get the flash. Beautiful. If Ekko can kill, Ekko can kill. Otherwise, don't worry about it. Letting Nasus farm a bit, that's fine. And like this, this Sylas, he gets a dragon. Cool, good for him. But overall, his game is really fucked. An enemy has been slain. He's not farming. He hasn't been able to progress his game states. We can also go fight this Nasus pretty hard here. He wants to go for the cannon pretty badly. So let's go get this guy's ultimate here or even kill him. That's a ghost at least. Great, so that's a free ghost for us. And the mid wave's completely fine. And we wanna stop this Sylas from getting the top crab and the grubs here, which is why I'm in the top side. It's all just map movement here. Didn't Sunder Sky have a Ruby Crystal in its build? It did, but they removed it. Which nerfs the item by a bit, because you can't sit on extra amount of HP. Okay, now what we want to do is we want to look for a full clear down towards the bot side, and we want to just continue playing the game a bit naturally, but through our, through our bot lane essentially. Okay, points into our E feels so good because we have the extra bonus attack speed. And a while back they buffed how much attack speed Xin Zhao got per level, so this buff was like, it's, it's really nice quality of life buff on Xin Zhao. Mid lane's fighting pretty hard. I wonder if the Sylas actually did my Raptor camp there. He didn't. Oh, they used his TP too. Okay, I still have, um— oh my God, I got hit into the turret. Hesitation. That is all it took. I don't think this guy can kill me here. We're fine. Yeah, nice. It's a 2 for 2. No, was that a 3 for 2? Yeah, it's a 3 for 2. Not, not great. Nice, we got his flash. That's big. Despair. Follow the just path, no matter how painful. We got that guy killed there. I have a full knock-up here. Kill this guy too. I can't save you though, Ekko, bro. You're dead as shit. It's a 2 for 1. Still really good odds. Again, slow that guy for my Blitz and then walk away. And we are sitting on so much gold, we can buy a full item here. Sundered Sky is so strong. Look at my— look at Pantheon. Pantheon's just been like cracking the top tier because Shen TP'd in. We'll go Gromp, we'll go to our bot crab, and we want to play for this next Dragon. We want to keep, keep skirmishing. This champion is great at high-tempo skirmishes. What I mean by that is that, like, you clear a lot of your camps and then you go take fights. So after your camps are clear, you go fight, fight, fight. Dodge that. I didn't smite my river friend out. Fuck. Let's try and kill him. Flash ignite. Let's try. Oh my god, the Pantheon ult just, just ran through him. Oh my god, that was crazy. I should have ignite— I should have ignited him. Or smited him, sorry. Let's go towards the top side, clear Krugs down. I mean, we want to go for this Herald. We don't want to give it to them if we can prevent it. At this point, we should— we could go for like just one piece of MR. And the reason why is like their Shen, their Nasus, their Milio, their Sylas, they all have like bits and pieces of MR. Is it a lot of MR? No, it's not. But preventing that is going to be very helpful. What's high tempo? I mean, the idea of playing like high tempo, like it's put simply just like every single time there's a fight, you make sure you have a lot of your camps cleared before anything happens within the fights. You can dodge that there. These guys are still completely screwed. Walk away here. Beautiful, get this guy killed. And now we can go for the Herald after. My Krugs might be gone, but it's all good. Krugs and Raptors, that's fine. Is there any champ after you fight you want to clear? If you watch how I was playing this game, I wasn't just perma full clearing. There are some champions that are just better at fighting in between camps. So you need to be careful with just perma full clearing, uh, depending on the champion that you're playing. It's a very good default. Um, no, my gold! Fuck. Um, it's a good default to have, but it's not what you want to be doing at every point into the game. Like, you want to be able to like make plays by, um— let's see if we can get this guy killed here. Actually, you want to actually make plays, uh, depending on the champion you're playing. So in this case, we're playing Xin Zhao, so Fighting is not that bad for us. He can't hit me. Oh, he flashed into me. Fuck. I was gonna say he can't hit me. Hahaha. And then he fucking flashed autos me. Like, okay, bro. My bad. Me dying here is really bad. Even this death doesn't feel like it's like, oh, whatever. You died, Perry. Like, no, like, I don't get his Raptors, Red, Krugs, and the Dragon tempo. Which is just so fucking sloppy for my game. Uh, it just makes everything like this. The Sylas is allowed to catch up to me. So if you feel like, oh, I'm not able to close out games, I'm not able to like stomp as hard as I see other players, it's— The hell? Okay, what I want to do here is I need to get my path, my ulti here. So I'm using my, my W on camps. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa! This one's even better. That one's even better than the other one. Buttscrank! Oh my gosh! I'm killing your ass, bro. I'm gonna get your camps. Don't wither me. I'm not even gonna bother with the kill. I'll just let my teammates kill him. Honestly, like, Xin Zhao's a champion that, like, you should probably go Dark Seal if you're snowballing this hard. Like, a Dark Seal doesn't seem that bad. Oh shit, this guy might have just killed himself. Nope. Okay, we can at least play for one camp here. 5 new problems. My Twitch is just running. My Twitch is not playing the game. Why? I don't know why. What happened? This guy got mad or something, bro. You saw the Shen— you saw the Shen TP in and he's like going forward still. Why? Okay, technically we could probably do the Baron here. Do the Baron. Yeah, and if they come to fight us, we'll just ace them because they're, they're down Sylas, so that's just volume and no TP. Should be a very free Baron for us. Like, look, they're going back and forth. They're like, do we fight it? Do we not? Like, what can we do? And you, you have to be the one to like make these calls. Like, your teammates aren't going to make the Baron calls. It has to be you. Okay, let's farm a little bit here. So, Hinderer got a 32 in one game on ult. Holy shit. We actually deal so much damage though, we can just probably kill it like this. So while my teammates siege the top side, I'm gonna siege the bot lane. And this is like, technically if I stay with my teammates towards mid, I could probably end the game with them, maybe. But this way I get to still play for my gold. I'm all about playing for your own economy. Okay, we're just gonna end the game, I guess. Like, I guess they're just gonna let me end the game. Nice try. This Vayne is so aggressive though. Holy shit. You guys see that? That guy is so aggressive. We have gates, but I think I'll just stay on the map here. Okay. Twitch versus Sylas in top lane. That shit ain't looking too good. Bro auto'd the fucking minion or the fucking— like, what are you doing? Just face checking me like that. Oh shit. Okay, they just lost the game. All right, that was an absolute masterclass on Xin Zhao here. What a fun champion to play. If you like fighting and still farming, I think Xin Zhao is really powerful. And this is just a good display of like how you can make Xin Zhao work. I had to play fights decently well though. I had to make sure I got my E right. I had to make sure I got my W right. I had to make sure that things still went good. But overall, this is a great display of like what you can make happen on a champion like Xin Zhao.
