If you look at high-growth firms, there are a lot of things that are fantastic, and there are a few things that can make them extremely difficult and actually put a limit to whether or not they can grow as, as well and as fast as, as they can. And so I thought about talking on 3 things that limit high-growth firms. And number one is the ability of the executive team to grow as leaders as the company grows and becomes more complex. The simplest example is when I started a business once, it was just me and a couple of other people. And then very quickly, as we were 25 people, I realized that I may not have had the skill set to be a manager of so many people. And so I had to hire the competencies to, to do that. So that's one limiting factor to high-growth firms. The second one is the need for systems and structures to handle the complexity. So early on, as we're building our businesses, we're just doing things. We're not necessarily putting down the rails that allows us to go further and faster by having good systems for managing tasks and priorities in the business. OKRs, if we use them, good systems and processes for how we communicate with each other, all those things. seem to fall by the wayside, but actually doing that early on helps you ensure that your firm can grow and be what it can be. And then the third thing is the market dynamics get more and more complex. The bigger your company gets, the more customers you get, the more markets you might be in. And so the ability to handle that complexity is another factor that will contribute to whether or not your firm will grow and prosper as you want it to.
