Seneca, one of my favorite Stoics, wrote, each day acquire something that fortifies you against misfortune, death, and anything else that might harm you. Something along the lines is what he wrote. And when we think about that in modern life, each day, are we doing something that will help us weather the storms that are going to come? Right. Are we sleeping well enough? Are we eating well enough? Are we exercising well enough? Are we working on our relationships? Are we working on our business or in our business? Are we thinking about protecting ourselves financially in the future, either with insurances or by creating additional revenue or furthering our ability to make income in the future. So there's a lot of things we can do, and there's a lot of things to worry about. But I think his point was that just every day, kind of be mindful of, am I doing something here with any of these aspects that will make me able to weather future storms more successfully? So I wanted to share that with you today to think about and say, well, have I done something today that is going to make me more resilient? And if not, what is something that I could do? It might be a simple thing as going for a walk or eating that apple that's sitting on the counter or calling your parents or maybe send out a couple of emails to potential clients. Whatever it is, try to think about doing something that will help you be more resilient in the future so that when those storms arrive, that you're better able to weather them.
