Seneca taught that time uncovers truth. When you feel an urgent impulse to act, wait a day or two. Often what seemed necessary reveals itself as pointless, and clarity comes on its own.

One of my favorite Stoics, Seneca, said we should allow time to lapse because time discloses the truth. That's this idea that when something happens, sometimes letting some time pass, it might resolve itself, right? You know the feeling that there's something where somebody says, oh, we need to do this, that, and the other, and then you actually don't do it, and then the next day, actually, we didn't need to do this. So the next time you find yourself wanting to do something quickly or wanting to resolve something, maybe give it a day or two and see what happens.
