An African proverb says those who ask questions don't lose their way. The speaker compares navigating a strange city without a map to moving through emotions and relationships without curiosity, urging you to replace assumptions with questions like "Why am I feeling this?" and to ask others about their motivations too.

There's an African proverb that says, the ones who ask questions don't lose their way. And I always smile when I think of this because it's like you're walking around a foreign city and of course you have to ask somebody to find your way if you're not using, let's say, Google Maps. But it also reminds us to ask questions instead of making assumptions, both to ourselves, right? Ask, why am I feeling the way that I'm feeling? What is actually going on? Instead of assuming it's because somebody said something or somebody did something. And similarly with other people's actions and habits, rather than assuming that Lars is like this or Sophie is like that, then actually be curious and ask them, say, hey, what's going on? Why is this happening in your life? What's behind it? And it's through curiosity and questions that we can help ourselves find our way and maybe help others find theirs.
