Byron Katie says questioning your own beliefs is a gift. The speaker argues that real change in relationships, work, and stress comes from examining your assumptions, not blaming circumstances. Many problems feel bigger than they actually are.

To question what you believe is an amazing gift to yourself, said Byron Katie. And I take that to mean that if you want change in your life, you have to challenge yourself, challenge your beliefs. And so if your relationships are not going the way that you want them to go, maybe you need to change your belief about what the other person is or isn't. If you want to change your professional circumstance, maybe you challenge your beliefs about why you're there, your values are and whether or not they're aligned with the work. And certainly, if you're— all the thoughts in your head that are stressing you out, maybe you need to address those challenges, the beliefs around why these things matter, and perhaps find out that they don't. I really love this quote, and I take it to mean that if there's something that is not feeling right in my life, I start with looking at my beliefs about the situation rather than looking outward and rather than sort of blaming the circumstance.
