John F. Kennedy said, effort and courage is not enough without purpose and direction. I think a lot of us can recognize that, that we can have a lot of courage and we can put a lot of effort in, but it still doesn't feel like we're getting where we need to be going. And typically the reason for that is we don't have a clear sense of purpose. Why am I doing what I'm doing? And oftentimes we don't have a clear sense of direction. We have this idea that we need to go to this place out in the future. But is it really where we need to be or where we want to be? Or is it just something we're doing because it's expected of us, because that's what somebody else says in the organization, but it's actually not aligned with and true to the direction that we want to go in? Remember the John F. Kennedy quote whenever you feel lost a little bit, that effort and courage are not enough unless you have purpose and direction.
