Johan, Tottenham's technical director, told the speaker that 70% of the club's budget goes to just 25 players. The speaker argues startups should do the same: invest heavily in mental health support for your top five people, not just physical fitness or general wellness.

So if you look at professional athletes, you brought up soccer, right? If you look at professional soccer or football players, not only do they have a coach on the pitch, they have a strength coach, they have a stretching coach, they have a nutritionist, they might have somebody else, they might have a psychiatrist, right? They have like 5 or 6 people around them. Yeah. I happen to know the technical director at Tottenham Hotspur, Johan, and he told me something the other day which blew my mind, which is they basically spend 70% of their budget On 25 players. If you spend that kind of money on these guys, of course you're going to make sure that they're stretched, relaxed, mentally prepared, that they're not worrying about relationships at home when they need to be on the pitch on Saturday. And it's a little bit the same thing with startups. I'm not saying that companies or investors need to spend a ton of money, but they do need to prioritize it. They're already like 15 employees. They have allocated budgets for mental health, for the top 5 guys and girls. Pretty impressive. They've already said, we're going to spend this amount of money for you to be good. And it's not for you to go to the gym. It's for you to work with somebody on the mental side of the game.
