Peter Sorgenfrei reflects on Plutarch's idea that the mind is a fire to be kindled, not a vessel to fill. He argues for intentional consumption over passive doomscrolling, choosing what you let in to actually nurture your thinking.

Plutarch said, the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled. Think about that when you decide what goes in there, how you feed or how you kindle that fire. Is it what we all succumb to— doom scrolling and spending a lot of time watching stuff, reading stuff, thinking about stuff that actually doesn't serve us? Or do you make a conscious choice, be intentional about what you consume, what you put in that mind, and how you kindle that fire?
