On good days you're patient and kind. On bad days you're short-tempered and forgetful. The difference is a choice: pause, take a breath, step outside, and reconnect with who you actually want to be before you act.
Chapters
We all have good days and bad days. On good days, it's easy to be empathetic, it's easy to provide good feedback, and it's easier to be patient with both your families and your colleagues. On bad days, we've all experienced being a little bit short with somebody who asks us an innocent question, or forgetting to do certain things, or recognizing those around us. So it's on bad days we really need to be cognizant of how we are and check in with our values and our qualities and make sure that they come out to the forefront even when we're stressed, tired, frustrated, angry, whatever else we might be feeling at that moment. That's when we need to take a breath and say, hey, wait a minute. This is not who I am, or certainly this is not who I want to be. So maybe I need to go outside for a second or just take a moment to myself, get back in touch with my values, and then go back out to the world and be something for myself and for the people around me.
