Peter Sorgenfrei shares what he learned from a sales workshop: stop trying to close deals fast. Be genuinely helpful to prospects instead. Trust builds over time, and they'll buy naturally when they're ready.

I just spent 2 hours in a sales workshop with a communications agency, trying to talk to them about how you actually sell services. And it got me thinking about the simple sort of adage, which is, just try to be helpful to people. If you're helpful to people long enough, eventually they will buy something from you. It's when you go in and go for the sale immediately that nothing happens. If you're frustrated by your sales process, just know that all it takes is trying to be helpful and do it long enough, and then good things will come.
