I'm often asked how I can write as much as I do on LinkedIn and elsewhere, and now that I'm writing another book, and I always quote Flannery O'Connor who said, I write to discover what I know. I found that writing down your thoughts actually clarifies what you're thinking. It clarifies your perspectives and opinions and allows you to obviously communicate them to a bunch of folks on mediums like this in different ways. So as I sat down yesterday with a guy who has written 3 business books very successfully, Alan Grigorman, I asked him how he did that and he told me about his process and I realized that my process was completely different in that I see it as a bunch of Lego bricks that I have in front of me that I'm trying to connect and see if I can build Hogwarts Tower So that's how I collect my ideas and write how-to books.
