Life isn't the problem. Your relationship to what happens is. By pausing before you react, you can choose a better response and stop treating circumstances as the enemy.

I've caught myself saying, oh, my life is difficult or stressful or all these things going on. But life is actually not the problem, right? It's how I relate to what's happening that's the issue. So focusing on calming my mind actually helps me relate to what's happening. So rather than responding or reacting, I'm reflecting. thinking about what's happening, considering what an appropriate response or reaction might be before actually doing it. And that way, life is not really the issue anymore. It's how I, how I relate to it.
