Peter Sorgenfrei argues for shifting from a mindset of being pushed by problems to one led by dreams. He quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson and urges viewing actions as opportunities to pursue what you actually want, not just obligations you must handle.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams. And I think in daily life, it feels a lot we're being pushed around or forced to do things. I have to do this thing, or, oh, I need to deal with this. And the reality is that we can also choose a different path. We can say, hey, I want to achieve this, or I get to do this thing. In order to live my dreams or fulfill the promises that I've made to myself in terms of the life that I want. Rather than feeling pushed around by the problems or that you have to do certain things or that you must do certain things, maybe change your mindset and start thinking about the things you get to do and the things you can do in order to pursue your dreams.
