Founders obsess over building their product but ignore market trends, customer needs, and whether they're heading toward the right goal. You need to check the wind and waves around you, not just polish your ship.
So sometimes when you meet somebody building a company, it feels like they're more interested in the ship that they're building than the way the wind is blowing. And by that I mean they are more worried about telling us about all the great things that their company is doing versus actually thinking about where they're headed and/or what their customers might need. So instead of only worrying about what you're doing internally, you also need to worry about what's, what's the direction that you're going to, and are you headed to the right port?
