Pichai Kwan said, silence is better than unmeaning words. I think about that sometimes when I'm reminded of my grandfather who said, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. Oftentimes we fill the empty space, the void, the silence with words when maybe we should just be quiet. And the same thing happens if we have something Not so pleasant to say. Sometimes it helps to just take a moment before we actually utter those words and potentially hurt somebody or say something that we actually didn't mean. The next time you feel like saying something, maybe take a beat and say, do I actually need to say this? Or is the silence okay? Or do I actually need to say this? Or is there another way I can communicate what I'm feeling right now without upsetting those around me or without upsetting myself?
