A founder outlines five habits to adopt: daily exercise like a 30-minute walk, prioritizing sleep in a dark cool room, eating slowly and mindfully, meditating even for 30 seconds, and developing hobbies outside work. These practices improve focus and well-being without requiring rigid routines.

When I first start working with founders and CEOs, I typically give them 5 things that they must start doing immediately if they aren't already. Number 1 is exercise any way you can daily. Be micro exercises. It could be going for a walk for 30 minutes. It could be going for A class at the gym or a run or whatever your preferred method is. But every single day you need to fit in some exercise. Number 2 is sleeping like your life depends on it, because it does. So creating an environment where you can get enough sleep, that means completely blackout blinds, no screens of any kind in the bedroom, Cool bedroom, maybe a heavy blanket, and of course, as quiet as you can get the space. That's number 2. I also advise them to slow down their eating. A lot of the people I work with eat really quickly. It's kind of something that has to, you know, just have to get through it and then get on with our day. So I advise them to slow down their eating and trying to eat more mindfully by noticing what it is they're eating. Literally down to how they're chewing it, how it tastes when they first put it in their mouth, how it tastes when it's done chewing, all sorts of little details like that. But really being mindful of what they're eating to get the focus away from the outside world and kind of in on the stuff that you're doing right now as you're eating. Number 4, one of my favorite topics, meditating in any way you can. It doesn't mean sitting down for 10 minutes Every morning on a pillow with your incense sticks. It can be, you know, 30 seconds standing in line somewhere. It could be a couple of minutes before you go to bed. Doesn't really matter where it is or how it is, but try to practice meditation. I've done a bunch of posts and videos on meditation, and obviously you can find them anywhere, or you can write me if you need to see how to get started with that. And then the last thing is developing passions that have nothing to do with work. So whether it is stamp collecting or whether it's a sport or whether it's going to a certain kind of museum, finding something that you can be really passionate about that has nothing to do with work. Historical fiction is another good one that a lot of people get into because all those things together will allow you to lead a life as a more whole human. It will give you, in your brain more importantly, a pause from being a founder or CEO hard charging, doing all the things you have to do. So those were 5 things that I advise founder CEOs to start doing immediately when I start working with them, um, if they're not doing them already. I hope you enjoyed it. If I can be of help in any way, do let me know. You can find me on this channel or anywhere else.
