A Kenyan proverb says those who use force are afraid of reasoning. The speaker argues that people who resort to coercion avoid logical argument, and urges listeners to pause before forcing outcomes and choose reasoning instead.

There's a Kenyan proverb that goes, those who use force are afraid of reasoning. In the current political ply-mate— I should say climate— that's a very, very apt saying, isn't it? I mean, basically, those who use blunt force or try to force people to do something else are typically not the ones that are most open to reasoning and logic. So if you find yourself in a situation where you're trying to force something through, maybe slow down, see if there's some reasoning, see if there's some logic you should listen to, and then have another go at it.
