Peter Sorgenfrei walks through a weekly self-review process for founders who struggle with prioritization. Ask yourself five things: did you progress toward your goals, did you try hard enough, what went wrong, what went right, and how can next week be easier. The habit matters more than the exact questions.

One of the things I work with my clients on is the weekly self-review. And essentially, it's asking yourself a couple of questions at the end of each week. One of the questions is, what have I done this week to get closer to my goals? And then list those things. Another question could be, has that been enough, or did I not get everything done I want to get done? A third question could be, what did I struggle with? Or a fourth, what went well? And last but not least, how can I make this easy on myself next week? And so the actual questions that you ask yourself, they matter maybe less. It's more the art of having a self-review where You sit down and you reflect on how the last 7 days went, some of the things that you did that went well, and some of the things that you did that didn't go as well as planned. And then how can you improve for next week? And it seems like a super simple exercise, and it is, but it's extraordinarily powerful once you implement it. And especially if you're a first-time founder or anybody really who's struggling with kind of what are your priorities, what is your progress, what is it that you actually want to accomplish. By doing a self-review, you have an opportunity to reflect upon that and then see if you need to course correct for the following week. We're not talking about changing strategy or changing overall direction. We're talking about making small adjustments to how you apply yourself in your work to make sure that you go where you're where you want to go and you get the things done that you need to get done. So this is— this was a little bit about the self-review. I've written about it. You can find it on resources.petersorgenfrei.com or just comment anywhere that you've seen this and we'll make sure to send you a template that you can use.
