T.S. Eliot warned that we lose wisdom in knowledge and knowledge in information. Today's social media lets us share unverified claims instantly, mistaking what's online for truth. The speaker asks whether what we consume and repeat counts as wisdom, knowledge, or just raw information.

T.S. Eliot said, where is the wisdom we've lost in knowledge, and where is the knowledge we've lost in information? I take that to mean that we're no longer wise. We kind of think we know everything, but honestly, we don't have the same wisdom that we used to have. And subsequently, all the knowledge that is accessible at our information— at our fingertips through the information that we can get from all sorts of devices causes us to believe the information that we find and actually not know, right? The difference is we take something for granted. We see something— I think the most apt example is social media, where you see something online and immediately you talk about it with somebody else, and in reality it actually turns out not to be entirely true. I'm reminded of the T.S. Eliot quote when I hear something or see something and I believe that to be absolute or true. And then I say, well, is this wisdom? Is it knowledge? Or is it just information?
