Peter Sorgenfrei explains why obsessing over results backfires. You control your inputs: what you do, when you do it, how you do it, who you do it with. The output is not yours to control. Focus on best effort instead.

Alan Lokas said, you cannot control the results, only your actions. It kind of mirrors something that I tell my clients all the time. You cannot control the output, you can only control the input. And by that I mean you can decide what you do, when you do it, how you do it, with who you do it, but you actually cannot decide what comes out of it, right? You can have all sorts of best efforts, but then there are external curveballs that decide That, that's not how it's going to go. So the more and more you obsess about the outputs and controlling the outputs, the more miserable you're going to be, because that is never going to be controllable. So if you're in a situation where you're wondering or worrying about something, have you controlled the inputs? Have you put down best effort to do the things that you want to do? And then the outcomes will be what the outcomes are going to be.
