Middle managers are getting squeezed out as AI and automation reduce the need for traditional management layers. The speaker explores why so many managers feel dissatisfied and how workplaces are shifting toward leaner, more efficient structures.
And when each person is doing so much more, do you really need a layer of people kind of in the middle managing? And by the way, that job isn't that satisfying for a lot of people anyways. A lot of times you talk to managers and they're like, I'm stuck in the middle. I get all these things from my manager, and then I have to, like, translate it down to my team. And it's actually not that stimulating. And so I think there's actually a very positive shift. Yes, jobs are going away, and that is not great. But if you can think about where's the puck going and how do I skate to that, how do I use the tools to take time off of my day so that the low leverage work is actually being done?
