In this video, we're going to discuss the 26 proven ways to drive traffic to your website. And this was an article that was put out by Shopify. And as I was going through this, I'm like, this is very vague and it doesn't even explain for local service businesses specifically how they can implement these things. And so I'm going to go through this article and walk you through, step by step, exactly what it means for your business and how you can implement it specifically if you're a home service business owner. So, number one, write title tags that match search intent. You can see that they're saying that you could get an ROI for this in a couple days. Effort is low, and you're going to get a decent amount of traffic. What does this mean? Title tags. All right, so on your website, just pull up a website here. Every single page on your website has what's called a title tag, a meta Description and an H1. So your title tag here, this one says Five Star Gutter Cleaning Service in Charlottesville, Virginia and surrounding areas. Two important things with title tags. One is that you mentioned the service that you offer. So gutter cleaning and the city that you offer in. And you want to pick your number one city that you want to target. This is optimizing your entire website like this. So let's say you do gutter cleaning, you do gutter installation, you do gutter screens. That's what your title tag is. How does this correlate on Google? Real quick before I show you that if you want. This is a. It's a free plugin that I use. I have no affiliation. It's called Detailed. A lot of times people comment on these things and say, what plugin is this? It's called Detail. But what your title tag is is when you go and do a Google search, this right here, professional gutter cleaning service in city. This is what your title tag is and how it looks on Google. So that's the first thing they said, write title tags that match search intent. So your service with your city, number two is write irresistible meta descriptions. So same thing when we talk about those title tags up here. Meta descriptions, you want to write really good ones. So usually we like to start it with a question like this. Are your gutters clogged and you have issues with your gutters or whatever that sounds like. And then you want to make sure that you mention your city and your service again in your meta description. What does this look like on Google? This section right here is your meta description. They're saying we are one of the top rated gutter cleaning services in Frederick, Maryland. I wouldn't necessarily do it like this because you're not the hero, the customer's the hero. And this doesn't really help with that. All right, number three, prioritize backlink building. And this says it could take weeks. So in the world of SEO search engine optimization, backlinking is important. And basically what backlinking is getting links on other people's websites that Google deems credible. So let's say your website were to get featured on Forbes or CNBC or whatever big platform, then Google's gonna say, well, if this company featured them, then I should feature them. Then I should feature them higher because their domain authority or their rating is higher than since they obviously went through vetting them. And it's more credible source for local service businesses. You could do this by local colleges, local organizations, other businesses that you might partner with, having them put your link on their website and vice versa. I would say this is good for SEO globally, but for local SEO, it's not a big needle mover from a traffic perspective. Number four, add internal links to and from important pages. Okay, so on any page on your website, this is a blog post. On our website, you want to have three internal links. The reason that your internal links are good is for several reasons. But the first one is people that are naturally reading it want to read this and say, oh, results, I want to go and see what results they have. Or they're going here and they want to say, oh, free marketing audit or contact us. Or if you're talking about another service that you offer, you want to link to it. That's the first thing. Second, when Google is indexing, when they go through and crawl your website, the easiest way to get better rankings for your pages is to interlink them. Because Google's going to go through and it's going to follow all the links across your website and it's going to help with your organic rankings, which is why it helps from an SEO perspective. And you can see the time to ROI on this is weeks, because you can do this and you're not going to see any traffic to your website. But over time, by doing the right SEO stuff, you're going to get more traffic. So one of the things that we do is like any blog post we write, we put three links in it. Any new page that we create, we put three links in it to internal linking for those exact reasons so that Google will pick it up and index it. And also it's better for user experience. Number five, Add long tail keyword variations to your pages. This one I'll keep it very simple. Don't try to jam in all these different keywords into your blog, content or website. Just naturally talk as if you're going to talk to a customer. So don't just try to jam in gutter cleaning, gutter cleaning, gutter cleaning, or H Vac install, H Vac install, H Vac install. Just your natural discussion of how this would sound. Use it like that. So maybe you say H Vac installation, furnace installation, boiler installation. You use different variations of the terms or inter or however that might sound. You want to just talk like you normally would talk. And don't try to jam in certain keywords. When it mentions long tail keywords, instead of just saying gutter cleaning, you're going to say gutter cleaning in Charlottesville, Virginia, like that example said, or gutters clogged. Maybe that's a longer or different type of keyword than gutter cleaning that people would be searching. But it's not just a general gutter cleaning type of term. Or gutter, for example. All right, number six, stand out with rich snippets. So what are rich snippets? Rich snippets are when someone searches something. And this is more SEO. You rarely see this in local search. It's more when people are asking questions. So like this example, gutter cleaning, Frederick, Maryland. There's no rich snippets, but a snippet would be if Google were to give you an answer here based off of the content that's out there. So if you were to search like why are my gutters clogged in Charlottesville, Virginia? Then a rich snippet would show answering that. And the beauty of rich snippets for SEO is it's more of a they ask, you answer type of framework where you're answering people's questions. And by answering their questions in your content, Google's going to reward you by showing your answer in their search engine results page. Again, this is good for SEO, local SEO. You do want to create content that your customers are asking about, but it's not the, you know, the number one way to get a bunch of leads. Because you don't want DIY people. You want people that are searching for gutter cleaning services, not how to clean my gutters. All right, number seven, focus on local SEO. So this is the whole premise of what we talk about. But you know, your Google business profile, you want to make sure that that's optimized. Google Actually outlines three things here that they say. This is how Google determines local rankings. So the first one is relevance. You want to make sure that your business name mentions the service that you offer and that you're just generally relevant to what you do. Distance. You want to make sure that you're located in the service area that you want to target. So in that example with Shardsville, if that's your main target, you want to be located in that area. That's how you're going to rank best if you're located in that area. And then last one is prominence. Basically how many Google reviews that you have and how prominent you are in the market based off of what Google deems. And for local SEO, it's specifically reviews is going to be the number one thing. All right, next up, content marketing. So this is a big one for a lot of people. So blog content we talked about a little bit before, but creating content that is they ask, you answer framework. So take the top 10 questions that your customers ask. Create blog content about those things. This is going to answer them for them and also potentially give you one of those rich snippet things. But more importantly, it's going to add value in the marketplace and answer the questions and help you stand out as an authority. Google went through and updated their EAT algorithm, specifically targeting AI content. And what they want to see is real, authentic content that demonstrates that you're the authority in the space. And the way that you do that is you answer questions specifically for your local area as the authority. One way that you can do this is create case studies like this. So this is an example of a gym and fitness center that did air duct cleaning. And you just talk about exactly what you did. This customer had X, Y and Z issue. We went in, we came up with this plan for them. This was a challenge of their project. The solution, the results and, and this was the outcome for them. You basically just tell the story of the jobs that you're already doing and you turn them into blog posts. This is great for local SEO1, because you get your geographical qualifier in there for Northern Virginia or whatever your target area is. But you also are sharing just general words that you would use that you're going to get those long tail keywords in there, you're going to answer questions. It's just generally a really good type of blog post to write. Number nine, produce podcasts. So I just actually interviewed a guy on our show, you can see it on our YouTube channel about creating podcast content for local businesses specifically. And one of the Big things that I uncovered in that conversation is that it's about connections over content. And specifically when it comes to podcasting, because I have a podcast too, and I'm on podcasts. It's about building connections with the people that are going to refer you or talk about you. Not about just generating the content that people might see and then work with you, which a lot of people think it's that. So what does this look like for local service businesses? Specifically? When you talk about creating a podcast, you want to bring people on that are going to be referral partners for you. So think about like other. If you're a plumber, think about electricians, realtors, property managers, GCs, remodeling companies. Anyone that would be someone that would. You would be a really good connection with. Bring them on your podcast, build a relationship with them over 30 minutes or an hour, broadcast their message to your audience, and then start building that relationship so that they refer you in. It's all about the connection, not about the content, which I think a lot of people miss. Specifically when it comes to local SEO and local home service businesses. You could create a podcast, but is someone going to sit there and listen to a podcast about plumbing for, you know, every single week about, you know, hey, fix this drain, this drain, or fix this hot water heater? No, they're not. They want to hear more about the local community and what's going on in the local community. And that's how you would bring on those experts. You could also bring on your customer testimonials and other issues that people might have had that you want to bring on that are unique situations. But that's my two cents on podcasting. I just did an interview with him, which is why it's kind of top of mind. And I think a lot of people think it's a good idea, but they don't really know how to maximize it. Number 10, make videos. So we have a client that does a really good job with video content. And what they do is they literally just post their before and after in video form. So they'll just literally do a video of them coming in here, how it looked before, how it looked after them, opening the stuff. I think this is a huge opportunity for a lot of businesses to create content like that, like this, specifically because we're already doing a lot of these before and afters and with before and after pictures, it's good, but videos is even better. The big problem that people run into with this is that they don't have someone that can do it like, do I give my technicians this to do or do I do this as a business owner? And you've never seen my technicians videos. They're horrible. Do I have to go out on every job site? So this can be very limiting. And it's hard. Like, we do digital marketing consulting, but we can't go on site for all of our clients all over the country to do this. And so this is why this can be hard. But if you have a technician, maybe you could reward them. You know, hey, if you get a nice video before and after this, we'll give you, you know, 10 extra bucks or some incentive for that. And then you can create a quick reel or short that would get good engagement on social media, which would then drive traffic back to your website. Email marketing. All right, so in our flash funnel here, the last piece of this is retargeting. And we talk a lot about, you know, people come into your business, they find out about you, they come through a sales funnel, they might leak out, they might close. Then in this retargeting piece is having a monthly newsletter. So one of the companies that we work with generated $263,000 by sending a newsletter out to 6,000 people in their database. And this was. They never sent an email before. This was just sending out one every single month. And I think it's a big hidden secret for a lot of these businesses that they don't email their customers. You can't get lifetime value without a lifetime relationship. And I would say for home service businesses specifically, this ROI is going to be way faster than months. It's going to be literally days. Because imagine you send out an email to an entire database, like, hey, get $25 off x, y and Z service. And then everyone that opens that email, you can call them and don't be creepy, but you could just say, hey, we sent out an email about this special offer going on right now. I want to make sure that you're aware of it. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So this can be a home run, and it can be a lot faster than this and a lot more. A lot more money. And it doesn't cost much and you can get a lot of traffic to your website if you do it right, specifically for home service businesses. All right, so let's shift gears a little bit to organic social media management. So getting friends and family to share. So. So this is a really big one that, again, a lot of home service businesses miss, which is, yeah, you want people to share your stuff on Facebook and Instagram and hopefully that happens. We interviewed a guy from a company called Clicky on our channel, C L I C K I. And what he does, and this is I think home run. I'll give you like a low tech one and then what he does. But what he does is after they go through this sales funnel here, they find out about you, come through your conversion, go through your sale. We need to ask them for a referral. So a low tech way to do this is you have everyone that's come through your sales funnel that goes into an invoice, they get an email that says, hey, give the gift of 25 off, share this on social media, send this to friends and family and it's like a little voucher or something like that. Low tech, easy way to do it. What Clicky does is they actually give every single person that comes through your sales funnel, they give them a custom URL, that URL then they can put and send out. And then anytime someone clicks on it or turn into a lead, they'll get paid out. Almost like a affiliate marketing or referral bonus for home service businesses, which I think is really good and I think that that's a really good way to leverage this. Could they share the before and after picture in the blog post and that kind of stuff? Yeah, but really what you want them to do is give them something now that they can celebrate and give to someone else, like that $25 off voucher or hey, click, click on this link. I just use these people for my service and then they get paid for referring business coming back proactively engage on Instagram. I think that this is good for general type of driving traffic to your website for home service businesses. I don't think that this is something that's going to generate a ton of traffic to your website. You know, going and commenting on random people's things or liking people's things. This is just like a nice to do engage with the community. But I don't think that this is going to be a big driver of traffic for home service businesses. Engage on Reddit, similar this, I would say don't do this because when you engage on Reddit you're going to get people from all over the world and you don't want traffic to your website from all over the world. You want specifically local traffic because that's the people that you're going to be getting customers as. And so if you go on Reddit, there's no way to qualify local traffic. Now you could do specific local conversations on Reddit, but I still don't think this is the way to get a bunch of traffic to your site. It could be, couldn't be. I was, I haven't seen people do it and I don't think that it's going to be the best way to get traffic to your site for sure. All right, drive excitement with online promotions and I'm going to show you an example of what this looks like. So a lot of the websites that we work with, we create these pop ups with get $50 off air duct cleaning for example, or get 10% off this or lock in 2024 pricing or 2025 pricing or whatever year. It is something that you see this a lot in E Commerce. This is how you would take it into home service. You would create a pop up like this that people trade their email and phone number to get some type of a promo. So that's one of the big offers that I would recommend an excitement with an online promotion. That way you drive traffic to your site, you have something that happens. The other thing that they mentioned here was a giveaway, which I think is a really good idea. And this kind of ties into that email side of things, which is, hey, the first 10 people in this month get X, Y and Z type of service at a discounted rate or whatever that looks like. And then you blast it out there and you have these special giveaways. And the better the giveaway, the bigger it is. Like, you know, you get this free H vac or free comfort membership for a year. If you do X, Y and Z, you know, submit your thing here. I think that's a really good way to do it. It just takes a little bit of finesse. And what we've seen with a lot of business owners is they kind of have this idea, but then they do it and they get two or three people into the giveaway and it doesn't actually work. And you kind of have to do all this stuff and build this brand around you that people are engaging with your brand and then you can do giveaways on top of that, not just do giveaways and hopefully it works. Offer time sensitive discounts. So this is very similar to this. You could give the 50% off air duct cleaning. One of the best ways that we've seen this work for this time sensitive discounts is actually in this sales funnel right here. When they go through into your conversion, this estimate that you provide to them is offer it a time sensitive. So like, hey, we gave you this estimate. You get 30 days to convert this estimate and then it counts down 30, 20, 10. And then obviously when it gets to 5 and then to 1, you want to say, hey, this estimate is about to expire, do you want to do this or not? You can also do promos inside of that. So when a lead comes in, let's say they don't even get into an estimate or schedule an appointment. You could have something that's like, hey, you came in. We have a special promo going off for $50 off if you schedule by the end of the month. Those types of time sensitive estimates are really good over here with the leads to get people in the door. You can do that. But again, you need to have some engagement on social media or some other platforms off, off your offline, off your website in order to get it. Where I like to optimize when you get people into your funnel or onto your website, giving them these types of discounts, incentive to turn into leads. 17. Leverage user generated content. So we love user generated content. We use it a ton for what we do at Flash. User generated content that we like to use is customer reviews. So if you go to customer reviews here and you do this on yours, you can go to Most relevant. This is what we recommend. And on Most Relevant you'll be able to see people that post pictures. Usually they would prioritize these by people that post pictures, but for us they don't for whatever reason. But even if you just take the newest one, like hey, this was a great one that this person posted about us, take this and turn this into a graphic and then share that. On social media you can also ask your customers to submit before and after pictures. And if you're doing those videos with before and after pictures and then you link it up with a review, that's a home run social media post. That's a good UGC user generated content approach and we use this a lot for customer testimonials, frequently asked questions, before and after pictures, blog content, all that is going to be UGC type of stuff that then we color commentary on top of. Send free samples to Instagram influencers. You could do this, you know, you could send them, hey, I'll do a free carpet cleaning for you at your restaurant if you post that. We did this for you. I haven't seen specifically people do this because this is more, you know, guerrilla marketing, boots on the ground type of stuff. I think it's a cool way to do it, but you'd also have to do some research on influencer Instagrams in your local area, partnering with them. I know, there's a lot of groups out there that have decent platforms, whether it's Facebook groups or Instagram accounts that they could feature you, but they would charge money, which is fine. I haven't seen it to be super effective, but could be a cool way to do it. All right, and the last section here is going to be paid social. So Facebook ads, Instagram ads. I'm going to summarize these Pinterest ads. So when we talk about Facebook ads and Instagram ads and Pinterest ads, the most important thing when it comes to running ads to drive traffic to your website is.
