Phil Risher shows home-service business owners three reports to track if marketing works: a campaign summary linking channels to revenue, a new-customer report benchmarking new vs. returning customers, and an estimates report measuring year-over-year growth. Most businesses skip these reports entirely, which means their marketing is probably wasting money.

If you're the owner of a home service business, here's the three reports that would tell you how your marketing is performing. Number one, a campaign summary report. This will outline all the marketing channels that you have and it would line up with all the revenue and sales. The problem is most people don't know how to set this up and they don't set it up correct or ever look at it. Number two, a new customer report. Most people are spending money, but they don't know if they're actually getting new customers or returning customers. This is why it's so important to benchmark your new customers coming in the door. Number three is estimates, the number of estimates that you're generating. This will show you if your leads are good because you're actually generating more estimates. And that's why you want to track that year over year. If your marketing company is not looking at these three things, you're probably wasting your money because it's not working and they should use this data to help you grow your business. Shoot me a DM and I'll walk you through where to get those reports.
