Phil Risher walks through a local SEO tactic for small businesses: create pages pairing your service with specific cities (like "roofing in Denver") and publish case studies of recent jobs there. Build service-area pages and job posts to rank higher in local Google searches.

One of the best strategies for search engine optimization for a local business is to create content on your website with the service that you offer and a target city that you are currently trying to work in. So the way this looks is let's say you do carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, roofing, siding. You have all your services listed here, and let's say you just pick your top service and then you have your top 10 cities that you want to target. So list them from number one all the way to number 10 and then create content. Like, let's say you do roofing. You're going to create a page on your website that says roofing with the service area page. So roofing in this city. And that page is going to be all about roofing in that city. And to take it a step further, you can take a recent job that you did on that service in that city, and you can create a case study or a blog post about that specific situation. How did they find you? What was the process? What was the outcome? It gives you another page to rank on Google with that city and that target area.
