Google's AI answers now rank sites using mention rate (when AI links to you) and share of voice (when it quotes you without a link). These metrics launch end of Q3 or start of Q4. High-quality content still matters most.

you probably have already seen this when you Google something, you get the Google AI response and sometimes there's a link and sometimes there isn't. If there's a link, that's mention rate. So it's mentioning from the website. If it's the share of voice, it's just pulling from the website, but it's not linking it, or it's pulling from Google because of it's looking at the reviews. So it's pulling information, but it's not actually linking to the website. And so those are the two big pieces that are going to be kind of like graded on or ranked. I think they say it should be the end of quarter 3 or beginning of quarter 4 where that reporting switches. All that to say content. Is the biggest piece that helps with that, which then helps with AI.
