People are more honest with obviously robotic AI voices than human-sounding ones. A clearly artificial voice removes emotional burden, while realistic voices trigger uncanny valley discomfort and lower success rates.
You wanna know what people are brutally honest with? Robot. Getting that authentic content from people because there's no emotional shared burden of being honest. Another way that you can shoot yourself in the foot is trying to use too realistic of a voice. Mm-hmm. So we've actually found that by being upfront that it's a digital assistant and then also by using an intentionally more robotic voice, it's far more effective than the uncanny valley when the voice is too authentic sounding or too real sounding. So that's That was a very interesting takeaway we had where the success rates plummeted as we used more advanced voice rendering.
