Google's New AI Agent Will Change How Customers Find Your Business

Phil Risher explains Google's new AI agent, Gemini Spark, which will research and book home services on behalf of customers. Unlike traditional search, the agent does the legwork, so businesses need transparent pricing, detailed service pages, online scheduling, and FAQ content built from customer calls to be discoverable to AI.

Google just launched its first personal use AI agent called Gemini Spark, and this is the biggest shift in search in 25 years. In this video, I'm gonna break down exactly what Gemini Spark does, why it changes how homeowners are searching for your business, and what home service business owners need to do to position themselves to be found. Then I'll show you the practical steps that you can do right now so that AI agents can find, trust, and recommend your business. All right, so here's Gemini Spark, your 24/7 personal AI agent. Gemini Sparks helps you navigate your digital life, Give it a task and it works in the background 24/7, even if your phone and laptop are turned off. It operates autonomously, but always under your direction. You choose to turn it on and it's designed to check with you before taking major actions. So this is coming soon. Google says that this is going to be rolling out in the next couple weeks. You can see like it can go into your inbox and it can draft responses for you. It can go through and plan out road trips for you. This is the one that for home service, there's two here. This one, which is your home's new hero, it can turn your past paperwork invoices into future-proofing your home. So Gemini Spark investigates your invoices to anticipate your home's next needs continuously. Tell it to add recurring reminders to your calendar and keep an updated supply list in Keep so you can spend more time living, not doing house chores. Okay, cool, it can keep track of stuff, but watch this right here. Browse it, book it, buy it. Red flags, red flags. Gemini can do all the time-consuming research, live web browsing to gather information across multiple sites, compare options, and even help you complete bookings. Okay, home service business owners, You see what it says right here. It's going to do all the research for the person. It's going to also compare options and it's going to help them complete bookings. So some of the questions here, where can I get Gemini Spark? So right now we said that it's coming soon. It's only available to these Google AI Ultra subscribers, but it's rolling out and says in the coming weeks to more users and businesses. So people are going to start seeing this more and more. What can Gemini do with the apps? This is the one that I wanted to show you, which is Google Apps like Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, YouTube, and Google Maps. So let's just think about this, home service business owners. It can access their Gmail, it can access their calendar of when they're available, and it can access Google Maps so it knows your business from your Google Business Profile. Let's say that they were to ask it, "Hey, I want to get my spring inspection completed. Can you go find a company to do that?" It can go find a company from Google Maps, give recommendations, compare options, then it can go find an availability on your calendar. And if they have online scheduling, it can go ahead and book it for you, make sure that you got the email confirmation, and then add it onto a calendar on your phone or something. This is all right here, right? I've been talking this for the past probably year that these agents are coming, and now we're pretty much here. So pretty exciting. Let me go through and talk to you about what this means for your home service business. All right, so 25 years of search all-in-one model. So the old world is human searched on Google, HVAC repair near me. They did their research, you know, they got the links, they clicked on the websites, they read the reviews, they compared the options. Okay, this company looks like they're better at this, this company's better at this. And then humans ultimately made the decisions to reach out. The new reality with Gemini Spark and agents is that Google just introduced a future where an AI agent does most of that work for you. And that's the real story here, is that what you used to do is now being done by agents on your behalf. And it's not as important to do things for humans, it's important to do things for agents. And that's what we're going to be talking about for the rest of this video. So— What Google actually launched: Gemini Spark, 24/7 AI agent, monitors information in the background, browses websites autonomously, compares options, completes tasks on your behalf, and can eventually help make purchasing decisions for businesses and for homeowners. This isn't another chatbot, it's software that takes action. All right, so agents versus chatbots. The old way is, "Find me an HVAC company." Now here's the big shift, okay? This is keywords and we're shifting to what's called conversations. So "Find me an HVAC company" is what people would say to a chatbot. This is the most important piece is that people are gonna start asking, find the best HVAC company, compare pricing, check availability, and schedule an appointment for me. This is where agents come into play where they can do a lot more than just find a company and then me still do the research. It's a whole different way of thinking and a whole different way that you have to set up your business to be relevant. The user doesn't do the research anymore, the agent does. Agents don't just answer questions, they perform work. They perform work. So what does this mean? Search, links, research, decision is the old model. The new model is this: question, agent, recommendation, and then action. And I want to talk about the question piece, and we're going to dive into that more because that's really the biggest change here, is that especially in home service, a lot of people before would diagnose themselves and try to figure out who they needed to contact, where now when they get way more reliant on these agents, they're going to rely on the agents to diagnose the problem, which is why they're going to be using conversations instead of keywords and asking questions. And you probably already do this if you use ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, whatever platform, you ask it questions, but more so as an assistant. And that's exactly how people are going to start using these tools. And that's why we need to change how we've been doing marketing for home service businesses. So when AI becomes the researcher, think about what consumers hate. They hate comparing websites, they hate reading reviews, they hate calling companies and then getting called back, they hate checking availability, they hate getting quotes. The agent removes all that friction and companies that make information easy to access become easier to recommend, and companies that create confusion become harder to recommend. I want to say this one again. Consumers hate doing all of these things, and now they're going to have a solution to do these things because an agent is going to remove all the friction for them and do this in the background and just give them the information. They're not going to be the ones calling. They're not going to be the ones interacting with businesses. They're going to be just getting the information back to them. So what this means for your business, if an AI agent is helping homeowners make decisions, can it See your pricing? So do you have a pricing page on your website? If you do not have a pricing page on your website and you think that, oh my gosh, my competitors are gonna see my pricing and then it's all gonna be gone, that's a problem because your competitors are putting pricing guidelines or pricing guides on their website and they're helping educate these chatbots, these AI agents on your business. So can they see your pricing? Because that's one of the things that most people ask, how much does it cost? So if you have not created any content about how much anything costs, Do you think that they're going to ever recommend your business or show you as a result? No. So you got to make sure that you do that. Can they schedule online with you? People don't want to do online scheduling because my route density and I can't be over here. Like all those things I get. But what I'm saying is that if the agent is going to go out and find pricing and then it's also going to schedule appointments online for people and you don't have online scheduling or pricing, do you think that you're going to be shown? No. Does it understand your services? Do you have service pages built out? For every single service that you do? If you do not, it's not going to know all the services that you do, so it's not going to know that you do that service. You think it's going to recommend you? No. Can it find answers to real customer questions? If you're creating generic blog posts and generic slop from ChatGPT, do you think that it's going to know your real customer questions? Because when your customer goes and asks it a question and you don't have any resources or authority content on that topic, it's not going to know that you do the work. Yeah. This is why you should start with content. When you start with content creation, you start from your customer questions. Do you have things that compare you against your competitors? And I'm not saying just call these competitors out, but like a side-by-side comparison of here's what makes us different than these guys. Here's why they charge $99. Here's why we charge $299. Whatever it is, having some type of explanation of why this company is different than that company, very important. Many websites are not prepared for this. Like what I just went through, if you cannot check those boxes inside of your business, then you're not prepared and you need to do those things. And we'll talk a little bit more about this. So what AI agents need to trust you, they need clear service information. So build out your services, transparent processes. So what is your process for this? Real customer reviews, get reviews, online scheduling, frequently asked questions, educational content, consistent information everywhere online. You're no longer just building trust with humans, you're building trust with systems, helping humans make decisions. Here's the big part. People before, I was included on this, I thought that just making content was for likes and shares, you know, videos and like, oh yeah, maybe I'll get some customers out of it, but it's a waste of time. That doesn't matter. What matters today is creating the content so that way people trust you and even more so creating content from your real customer conversations. So we actually built an AI agent for home service businesses that plugs into your customer calls, analyzes your customer calls, and then builds content straight from your customer calls. And that's the big shift that most people are going to miss because they're not going to— like, you can make a pricing page, you can have online scheduling, and at the end of the day, everyone's going to have that. But the people that really grasp it are the ones that get so deep into the content and to get so deep into the real customer questions that they're asking these agents that the agent's going to trust them and show their information. And this is why you need the call conversation transcripts, real customer questions, and then creating content from that. So the new marketing strategy, People aren't searching for HVAC repair near me. They're not searching for roofing company or gutter cleaning. They're asking instead of HVAC repair near me, they're saying, my AC stopped working. Should I repair it or replace it? Roofing company, my roof was damaged in a storm. What should I do next? Gutter cleaning, my gutters overflow every time it rains. What's causing it? They are trying to diagnose through agents and asking you questions, and you need to be able to provide the information so that way it says, well, yeah, your roof was damaged in a storm. What should I do next? Next, "Here's what we would recommend." Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Contact your insurance, reach out to the company, da, da, da, da, da. Like, you have to have content pieces happening for every single question. Businesses creating content around real customer questions are positioning themselves to become the source AI agents reference. That's the huge opportunity here. If you're not creating content, they're not going to recommend you because they don't know that you do that stuff or you can answer those questions. So here's the bigger picture. The question is no longer, "How do I rank?" Okay? Like rankings. Yeah. Are the old way because rankings are keywords. The question now is, how do I become the recommendation? How do they recommend me? The business that figure that out early will have a massive advantage over the next few years. So old way, keywords, on-page rankings. New way, become the recommendation. The way you become the recommendation is that you answer the questions that your real customers are asking, and then they recommend you because you have the content. Old way, customers do their own research. New way, agent does research for them and they need content to be able to pull from so that they know that you can answer the question and do all the stuff. Old way, websites that rank get more traffic. Doesn't matter. New way, clear structured information wins with real customer stuff. Rankings are getting obsolete. Even websites, you need the content so that way it can trust you. Reviews are nice to have. Reviews are trust signals for AI. I would say we all probably know that. Phone calls to compare options. People are not going to be calling you. Agent compares and schedules. They already have it in Labs where Google can call businesses and ask them questions and then get pricing and then go back to the, to the homeowner and tell them the pricing. This is why you need to have your pricing online so that people know. I'm not saying your exact pricing, but guides. What makes the price go up, makes the price go down? Why are some people more expensive than others? What are ballpark pricing? and then having online schedule available. Generic service pages versus answer-driven question content. This is why a lot of marketing companies are going to struggle in the future because they're starting with ChatGPT slop and they're creating content from there and businesses are never going to be shown in recommendations and they're going to die. And what they need to do is be creating real content and then they're going to be able to be shown and their rankings are going to actually help them in recommendations. All right, so here's a checklist for you. Before I go through the checklist, If this is, if, if this is resonating with you, like this is exactly what I built my home service business marketing company to do, which is to help businesses that want to be forward thinking right on the cusp of AI search, AI content. This is literally why we built an agent that we plug into home service businesses. I'll put a link down below. I love the opportunity to talk with you to help you prepare your business so that way you can crush it in the next wave. It was Yellow Pages to Google search. Now it's Google search to AI search and AI agents. And we're preparing our clients for that. So the checklist for you, audit your websites. Can an AI agent understand your services clearly? Do they, you know, can they go through and read every single service? It doesn't make sense. Add transparent pricing or pricing guidance to your website. Do this. I know you might be stuck on it, but do it. Enable online scheduling or lead capture. At least have online scheduling for a virtual estimate. If you have one guy and you can't go, you know, over a 3-mile radius all over the place, just set up online scheduling for just a virtual estimate, at least it gives you a shot at being— them scheduling an appointment with you. Build or update your FAQ page with real customer questions. When I talk to business owners, they have in their mind what the questions are that people ask. But the number one way to do this is to get your transcripts. And I can't stress that enough, which is you got to start there, which is why we built the agent, which is why we're so like moving so far into that direction is because you got to start with the real stuff. Create content that answers decision stage questions, not just keywords. Same thing, get the real transcripts, build content off of it. Ensure consistent business info across all directories. Make sure that everything is consistent because one of the big things with these agents is they want to make sure that they're giving the best information possible and they need to trust your business. And if you have different names, phone numbers, addresses, all the stuff all over the place, they're not going to trust you. Collect and respond to customer reviews on Google and key platforms. Keep getting reviews. I hope that you like this video. If you like content like this, be sure to hit like and subscribe, and I'll see you in the next video.
