All right, in this video, I'm going to break down how much does digital marketing cost? Holistically, if you were to outsource marketing, what does it cost? And also I'm going to break down every single thing. SEO, ads management, social media, email marketing, website building, website hosting. And I'm going to break down what companies typically charge and why there's some variations in these charges. My name is Phil Richer. I'm the owner of Flash Consulting. We work with local service businesses to help them increase their sales and keep their schedules full. And on this channel, we talk about growing local service businesses. And a lot of people ask for this video and this type of content. So I wanted to give it to you. All right, so we have made videos and we use this customer journey. And essentially what this does is it breaks your marketing into three different pillars. Visibility, conversions, and retargeting. Essentially, visibility is what people think of in marketing, which is like SEO, ads, social media, posting postcards, business to business marketing. Conversions is essentially your website, which is like building website, building these conversion channels, hosting your website, that kind of stuff. And then your retargeting is like your email newsletters, your text message marketing, direct mail, that's going back out to these people. And so I'm going to go through this funnel and kind of walk through what these costs are. All right, so holistically, what does outsourced marketing typically cost? What we found is that it typically ranges from anywhere $1,500 a month to $4,500 a month for people to do all your marketing stuff. That could be like SEO, that could be social media stuff. But this is typically the range of packages that people have. Now we've come across people that charge 6,000, $8,000 a month. But if you're going to get kind of like a full package of services for outsourced marketing, you're going to be spending around $1,500. Now, as I go through all these different services, you can task them out to different companies and they could just do this service or that service more a la carte. And so I'll walk you through what that looks like. But for a basic marketing plan, this is the range that you're probably going to be spending money in. What are some of the variables that go into this? Definitely the level of service. So do you get an account manager or someone that you meet with on a monthly basis, or is it kind of like a set it and forget it thing? And maybe you get an automated monthly report, the level of reporting when it comes to reporting, is it just like, hey, here's the number of people that came to your website, or is there actually an analysis done on your business level of customization? Is it kind of a set it and forget it thing, or is it tweaking based on what's going on your business? For example, if in January, February, March, it's focus on this, and then the next quarter you're focused on this, what level of customization is in there for your business? Number of locations is a big one. Because if you have multiple locations, it's going to cost more for different type of services. And then your general ads budget, if you're running ads and you're spending, you know, a couple thousand dollars is way different than spending 10, 20, $100,000 ad budgets, it's going to obviously increase this amount. So that's kind of the variables that we've seen, why there's ranges. Someone that might not care about customer service or care about the reporting, they just want some type of marketing done. They may be fine spending this money. If someone wants higher levels of these things, they might spend a little bit more to get those types of services. All right, so in this funnel, let's go through this. So SEO, there's two sites. There's two types of SEO. There's on site, which is your website stuff, and then there's off site, which is like your Google Business Profile, your listings, your citations, all that kind of stuff. Your Google Business Profile is a big part of that. But SEO off site, typically companies are charging around $500 a month just for that service, which is they're going to build out your citations, they're going to manage your Google Business Profile, they're going to make sure that that local map pack section, hopefully that you're going to be ranking in that. So this is called SEO off site, which is, has nothing to do with your website, has everything to do with your listings and your citations, specifically your Google Business Profile. All right, the other part of SEO, which is your on site SEO, it has a range because typically with this service, these, these types of services are going to be like building out blog posts, building out service area pages, which is like you service this area, this area, this area, and it's going to range based on like how many blog posts that they're doing, what's the quality of them, what other types of content are they creating on your site for SEO. And you can see like these are monthly costs that these, that people are providing. All right, so that's your two SEOs your ADS management. So if you're running like Google search ads, Google local service ads, sometimes people charge a flat fee if it's under a certain amount of dollars. So for example, if your ads budget is $5,000, they may only charge a flat fee of like 500 bucks to manage that. Once you start getting into bigger amounts, and some people just start with the management fee at percentage, they do 10 to 20%. So if you spend $10,000, they're going to take $1,000 as their management fee to manage these ads. And so that's how ads management is typically broken down. If you were to run like Facebook ads, it's a lot of times like this, Yelp ads, they don't really do this. You can just go on Yelp and set it up. Google Ads typically is like this. If you're going to work with a company, they're going to charge some type of ads management. All right, social media. So there's a big range when it comes to social media. And the range basically is the customization level. And if there's on site production that's needed. A good example of this is let's say that a company is just going to, you know, be off site and they're just going to take general content and they're going to be posting stuff on your social media and creating things with stock images and maybe images that you share with them. It's going to be a little bit less expensive for social media. If they're coming on site, you know, taking pictures, creating content, doing video production and all that, it's going to be a lot more than $1,500 probably. But it's going to be around that where they're actually on site doing stuff. And the other part to this is the frequency of posting. So if people are posting, you know, two or three times a week, it's probably going to be a little bit less. If they're posting every single day or multiple times a day on multiple different platforms with multiple different types of content, it's going to be a lot more. So that's why there's a range in social media, I would say for local service businesses. If you, you got it, I would pick one of these ranges. I would just do the basic stuff, which is, you know, sharing before and after pictures and reviews and stuff. Or I would go into like full production mode and maybe even hire a videographer on staff to like do really cool stuff for your business. What we found is if you're in the middle range, it's Just kind of like fluff and noise and you're kind of just wasting money, you know, sputtering around, trying to, trying to do social media when either you should just go this route or this route is what we found. All right, direct mail, typically it's going to cost about a dollar a postcard. It might be less like 65 cents. It might be a little more $1.25. But if you want to send out 10,000 postcards, probably going to be 1,000 bucks or $10,000 based on this. So this ranges. We actually partner with a company called Postcard Mania, which is really good. But this is typically what you see when it comes to direct mail website creation. So if you're creating a website, then a good starter website in our opinion is going to be around 3,000 to $5,000. Just, just straight up. And typically they're going to be building it on WordPress. WordPress is, you know, 50, 60% of websites are built on WordPress. And the reason that it's so good is because most people use WordPress sites. So it's easy. If you were to stop working with this company or work with this company, they can just pick up your WordPress site if it's built on a different platform. And it's going to be harder for you to transition to someone else or even to take it over yourself if you choose that route. The reason that there is a big gap here is the number of pages that you want built. So a basic website is probably going to have like 10 to 20 pages on it. If you want a full shebang SEO out website, you're going to be spending 15 to $20,000, but it's going to be built out fully custom full SEO type of stuff. So that's why there's a big range here. Again, if you're just getting started, we recommend starting out with a good like 3 to 5k. Those can rank pretty good. You want to make sure that they have experience doing local websites. Don't just pick someone because it's. They do websites. Just because they do websites doesn't mean that they can do them right for local SEO. And we. I literally just made a video about local SEO so you can look at that. All right. Once you have your website built, website hosting and updates, you have to host your website somewhere. And then also if you want to add like pictures and update stuff on your website, typically people are going to charge anything from 100 to 300 bucks a month for that email marketing. So if you're going to do Some type of an email newsletter. Let's just go back here so you can see. We kind of went through the whole visibility thing. We got to the conversion and website stuff and now we're going to be over here, which is your monthly newsletter and email campaigns. Typically, when it comes to email marketing, if you want someone just to create your emails, it's going to be probably around 250 to 500 bucks a month. This also varies based on the database size. So if you use a platform, they're going to charge per contact in there and then that's going to increase your spend if you're paying for that service as well. So for someone to create your emails, it's probably going to be around 250 to 500 bucks a month. And then the last one is your text marketing. So there's a bunch of platforms for this out here, but typically what we found is that they charge anywhere from 250 to about $1,000 a month. And they're going to charge you per text message in some capacity. It could be $0.10 a text message or $0.05 a text message or whatever it is, or.007%, but essentially that's going to be what that costs. All right, so just go back to this and recap. So all of these services, you can put them into a basic marketing package and you're going to be in this range and these are the variables that go into these costs. If you are interested in an outsourced marketing plan for your business, that's literally what we do.
