Phil Risher and others argue that sales matter more than vanity metrics like views. They use a lemon metaphor to explain why nurturing existing leads beats constantly chasing new ones, and predict pricing calculators will be standard within 3 to 5 years.
It's like you have to have a lobotomy if you want to build a company that's worth something to anybody else to buy.
This is a megatrend, folks. Within the next three to five years, I can almost guarantee you that everyone, Phil, is going to have some type of pricing calculator.
I don't care about likes and impressions and like, leads are good, but I want sales and actual return. That's marketing. A lot of times people get leads and they think of it a lemon, and they just squeeze it one time and a little juice comes out and they say, okay, I need to get another lemon to get more juice. When really, if you just keep squeezing that thing. Yeah, of course you got to do that. Yeah. It's kind of crazy.
I had that realization. Took me a long time to learn. This is I need to invest in my colleagues vision. I need to support them in their goals.
People are trying to pay you money and you don't even know it. Oh, cool. That's a win to me.
