Phil Risher says generic HVAC and plumbing blogs disappear in AI search. Trade businesses need to publish what only they have: before-and-after photos, thermal images, actual estimates, and neighborhood-specific problem breakdowns from real jobs. A plumbing post with specific data and images ranks; one that just repeats ChatGPT steps vanishes.

If you're posting what everyone else posts, then AI skips right over you. AI tools scan millions of pages every single day, and if your HVAC blog says the same thing as every other HVAC blog, AI doesn't need yours. So this is what you need to do. You need to share your own job data, your actual before and after pictures, real processes of you doing installs. That's the stuff that AI wants to cite. Your actual estimates, your HVAC test results, your cleaning checklist. That's content only that you can create. So let's say 2 plumbing companies write a blog post about fixing a leak. One copies the same 5 steps of how to fix a leak that ChatGPT gives it. The other one posts thermal camera images from their job last Tuesday with the exact breakdown of what they did and why homes in that specific neighborhood have that problem. This is how specific these platforms want you to be so you can stand out as the expert. So what I would recommend, pick one question your customers are actually asking and go to your last 5 jobs, pull the real numbers, the pictures, the timeframes, the questions that they were asking on that job, And write a post about it, not advice, just really what happened. That's the content that AI can't get anywhere else.
