Hero syndrome is literally killing your business. If you are the hero, the bottleneck on something, sales, the firefighter running around doing everything, the one who has to check off on every single estimate that gets approved, this is killing your growth. I always tell people it's like a football team. Imagine you have a wide receiver, quarterback, running back out on the field. Then you have a coach on the sideline. This is going to be like a manager or leader in the company. Then you have an owner in the box in the suite up top. Imagine Jerry Jones coming out of the box saying like, "Hey man, let me come on the field and throw this touchdown pass in the fourth quarter red zone." Like, that's not going to happen. Every single person has their role. So if you are an owner, you are not on the field. You are in the box. If you are a manager, you might be on the field on the sideline. You're not running the plays. This is how you need to think about your business.
