New FREE LinkedIn Feature For Commercial Leads

Phil Risher walks through LinkedIn's new "Message this business" button on company pages, which routes inquiries to page admins. It's free, lets visitors pick a message topic like demo or job inquiry, and could help local service and B2B sellers capture inbound leads without running ads.

All right, in this video we're going to look at a new way that just came out on LinkedIn for you to get more commercial clients. And this is going to be a game changer in my opinion, for LinkedIn pages specifically for businesses and how you use those pages and local service businesses. It's going to allow you to start to get leads inbound. And the way that I visualize this is that similar to how Facebook pages have a messaging component or even like a Yelp listing has a messaging component, I think that LinkedIn is going to be doing something similar as far as how they're going to use this tool. So they just came out with this, this is literally a couple days ago in May 2023 and they said that on your LinkedIn page. So for your business, your LinkedIn page, now they're going to add a call to action, the CTA right next to the follow button for non followers of your page. And, and it's going to allow people to message you. So by late May, message button will appear as a default call to action on all LinkedIn pages with only a single admin assigned. So what this means is that whoever's the admin on your business account is going to be assigned to these messages. Your custom call to action will now appear in the overflow menu at the top of the page by clicking the message your call to action. Members can message the admin of the page by pre selecting a list of topics to message about, including requested demo, job in career, among others. All messages from members will be sent to a new admin box. You have a new messaging box accessible from the page admin view as well as your personal inbox. And you can always disable this feature. I wouldn't recommend disabling it. So how is this going to look on your actual LinkedIn page? They're saying that right here next to visit website or follow is going to say message this business and then it's going to give you a pre selected options of what you can message them and it's going to say demo, job, inquiry, whatever. And, and so the way that I believe that this is going to be working is that slowly over the past about six months LinkedIn has really been trying to use these pages in organic reach. And even what I've noticed with my personal profile is that my personal profile reach is lower than what my pages reach is and I have almost 1500 LinkedIn connections and we have 181 followers and the reach for my pages have been almost double or triple whatever My reach is for my personal profile. So what I envision is that they're going to be adding these messages tools, they're going to start to try to generate leads from these pages for businesses, which is great. And then not only that, I think that they're going to really dive into their advertising and try to build out an advertising channel for businesses. Right now you can run LinkedIn ads, but they're very expensive, they're very tedious, the ROI is tough to calculate. And so with this message feature they may just simply allow you to run ads and then message this business and keep it all on the platform, which would be really nice and clean. So for businesses, how can you utilize this? Well, if you don't have a LinkedIn page for your business, you should definitely set one up. If you don't have admin access, you should get admin access because people are gonna be messaging you and then not only that, but posting on your LinkedIn page. As I mentioned before, you can get like this post. I have 181 followers and it got, you know, almost 16 engagements, eight engagements. So yeah, you can start to see like you can definitely get some good reach on this stuff. So the first thing is start posting on here. Once this messaging feature comes out, you're gonna start getting messages hopefully. But then on the flip side, if you are selling to commercial business or other types of businesses, well now you're gonna be able to message the admin of these pages directly on their page. And so I'm not sure you know what they're going to give you. As far as you can say this, you can't say that, but it could give you a direct line to the admin of this business page to put a little pitch through or a sales message in there. The other thing when it comes to commercial business is that a lot of people on LinkedIn, yes, it's a business social networking platform, but when people use LinkedIn they're in the mindset of professional development business, commercial type of work. And so you can really target some high end business people that's not just, you know, your stay at home mom on Facebook or you know, TikTok or something like that. This can be used, at least from what I know, is that a lot of the people that we work with are seven figure business owners of service businesses and they use LinkedIn and YouTube. And so that's why we're pretty heavy on LinkedIn and heavy on YouTube because a lot of our target audience is using those platforms to find information and so if you know your target audiences on this platforms then you should be using all the tools and resources that they give you. So I hope this video helps explain how you can utilize this. How does this fit into your flash customer journey? Well same thing in creating visibility from a social media perspective. LinkedIn is a great way for organic reach and then now you can prompt people to message you which then can help them turn into a lead into your business which is going to help you get through this customer journey.
