In this video, we're going to look at Google Trends, which is a really cool resource that will give you keywords to create content on and overall help you with your digital marketing strategy. So what is Google Trends? If you go to trends.google.com what this allows you to do is to search specific search terms. So in this instance, we have moving and storage. You could do carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, you could just do one like air duct cleaning. But anyways, you can search any search term that you want to see. And what this allows you to do is to look at the overall search volume in a specific area. So if you're in the United States, you can search for that or you can get as granular as metro areas. So for example, Boston, and we can look at over 12 months an hour, six, seven days. We can get really granular with this stuff. So over time you can see when the peaks and valleys are. So the storage is prime time, January, the beginning of January and the end of January over the past year. And you can see right now it's at highs as well in July, but maybe in December, right? This is around Christmas time. Search volume is low for storage. So that's how you can use this report to see now some of the other benefits. This is what I really like is that you can break it down by location. So this is a really good example of using it for local search engine optimization. So let's say that you want to create storage content. Well, what cities do you want to target in this instance? What Google is telling us is that we want to talk about storage in Brookline and we want to talk about storage in Dover, Delaware, because that's where the most searches come for storage. And when we look at moving, we want to talk about moving in Southbridge and Somerville. So this gives us an idea of what cities people are searching for content in. So that way we're not just blindly trying to create content on different keywords. So this is a really good tool for local SEO. And specifically, if we want to target specific areas, this tells us where we want to target. The other thing that this allows us to do is to look at related queries. Now this is a really cool tool because a lot of times people ask us, well, how do you know what people are searching? Are they searching for moving companies or are they searching for moving company? Are they searching for moving boxes? And so what this allows us to do is to see the actual queries that based on the volume out of 100 that people are searching. So clearly, if we were going to create content, we would use the keyword moving companies over moving company because more people are searching for moving companies is a good example. The other thing that you can do is scroll through these and see like moving services or pods moving. Okay, so maybe we need to create some content around that. Similarly, with storage, are people searching for storage space or are they searching for self storage, storage space or storage units? And so we could download this and we could get a bunch of ideas for content and how we're going to use it. So as you can see, Google Trends is a really cool tool that allows you to see high level the search volume based on the queries that you select. And you can select multiple ones over a specific amount of time in a specific search area and then you can use it to target specific areas based on the keywords that people are searching. So, so hope this helps and good luck creating content.
