Phil Risher tells roofing and home-service owners that switching ad platforms won't fix lead problems without a revenue system first. He outlines four ways to acquire customers: organic content, paid ads with ROAS tracking, B2B partnerships with local services, and cold outreach. His own business created seven playbooks that each generated $250k to $1M in annual revenue.

And I see the same post in these roofing groups every single week. If you're running from ad channel to ad channel and you're saying, do Meta ads work? Do Angie ads work? Do Thumbtack ads work? You're trying to solve a lead problem without building an actual revenue system in your business. What I found was that there's 4 ways to get new customers inside of your business. Number 1 is free content. You can post organic content, you can get reviews, you can do things on your website to get people to your website and convert. Number 2, you can run paid ads with return on ad spend tracking. So if you're going to hire a company to get you leads, make sure that they track return on ad spend tracking. Number 3, and this is a honey hole for most roofing companies is B2B partnerships, partnering with gutter cleaning companies, landscaping companies, pressure washing companies to send you leads. And instead of paying the Google gods, you pay these people for leads in your local community that are warmer and close faster. And then the 4th one is cold outreach. You guys might be door knocking or something like that, but those are the 4 ways to get new customers coming in the door. Now, if you don't have a system, this is exactly why I built my business. When I was at my $3 million home service business, I figured this out. We have about 7 playbooks that generate on average $250,000 to $1 million in revenue in the next 12 months. Comment roofer and I'll see if we can help you out.
