In this video we're going to discuss the four components of Google's search engine results page and how you can make sure that you show up in all four parts. Basically, Google is like a monopoly board and so we want to make sure that we're going through and checking off every box from a digital marketing perspective to make sure that you are showing up when people are searching for a product or service that you offer. The reason Google search engine results page is so important is because it is the lowest intent searcher. It's someone that's searching for the product or service in your area and, and they're pretty much about to buy, they're not scrolling on Facebook and just oh, happen to come across your ad or something like that. These are people that are looking for the right business to choose for the service. Real quick, My name is Phil Risher. I'm the owner of Flash Consulting. We partner with local service businesses and help them increase their sales and keep their schedules full. On this YouTube channel, we share strategies to do just that. If you like content like that, hit like and subscribe. Let's get right into this video. So if you go into Google and you type in carpet cleaning or whatever your services near whatever your target area is, you're going to see the search engine results page and it's going to look different for everyone because Google takes your locate your exact location into consideration as well as your search history. So this is just a very high level explanation of this. There's ways to change this search. But let's say that you did this search in your area for your service. You're going to see the results that Google is providing to other people around you. And so here's the four parts. The first one is these things which are called Google local service ads and they are in specific areas. They've been rolling out for over about a year or two now. But like in Canada for example, I don't know if they've been fully rolled out in some cities and some markets and some services, they don't offer these. But essentially what they are, they're probably going to be coming to your area if they're not here already. But what they are is when you click on this and you click this, it's a pay per lead model for Google. Traditionally you've had this section which is the second section which is your Google search ads, which is if you click on this, you go to their website and then you have to convert on their website into a lead. Whereas these are literally click here, call and Then it turned into a lead, and then you pay Google for that lead. Google local service ads. There is a process. You have to actually do a background check and some other things in order to get this green check. Google guarantee. Um, it's not that hard of a process, but you can go to ads@google.com local service ads and go through that process of how to do that. But the reason I'm showing you this is because you can actually look up how much. Well, if they're available in your area and how much the monthly budget should be for these ads. So you can put in your zip code, you can put in 10 leads or one lead. I just do that because it just shows us for one lead. If you want, one carpet cleaning lead is 23 to 35 dollars. One caveat to this, just because you pay doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to show up here. If you see Google's only picking three people. If we click here, let's open this in a new tab. There's going to be a bunch of other people on here. So let's see. 1, 2, 3, 4. Okay, there's only four with a Google guarantee. And this one has no reviews. So these other people, they're showing them because they have reviews and they are guaranteed. So it's not as competitive for this keyword in this location, but you get the gist of it sometimes. You know, if it's H vac or something, there's 10, 20 of these businesses, even 50. And so you're competing organically, you know, with your reviews and with your reputation. Because this spot right here is the prime real estate on Google. So they're going to want to show the best company that they could possibly show. And the way they do that is history. How many years you've been in business, how many reviews you have, your reputation, all the stuff that you build trust with Google. This is the number one spot. All right, so that's section one. We went through kind of what the cost looks like for that. Just Google local service ads. All right, now we have our search ads. So these are traditionally what you see from Google search ads, which are you can pay for keywords or broad match keywords in specific areas, and then Google's gonna show your ad to those people, and then they can click on it and go to your website. If that's your call to action. You can go to a landing page, whatever. So how does this work? Typically, when you run ads, a good cost per click is around like three to five dollars. So let's say that you spent $1,000 and we did $3 per click. That means you would get 333 clicks to your website. And once they get onto your website, a good conversion rate that we've seen about average is about 5% of website visitors turn into leads. And so if you were to take this and then times it by 5%, that would be 16 leads for a thousand dollars. And so then you can say, okay, well, if I got, if I spent a thousand dollars and I got 16 leads, then that's $62 a lead. So you can see that that's different than $23 a lead to $35. That's $62 lead. So using data, right? As a digital marketing consultant, we look at this stuff and we come up with strategies on what's working, what's not working, but that is how this second tier works. And you run ads, you get clicks, you go to your website. And so these are both paid options. Now we're going to get into the organic section, which is not paid. It plays a pivotal role in how people think about working with businesses. So this right here is called your Google Local Pack, Local Service Pack. There's a bunch of different names for it, Map Pack. But essentially what this is is again, there's a bunch of different companies that could be here and Google is picking the ones that they want to show based on the parameters you've put in. And we've made videos about this. This is typically called off site SEO. Local SEO. This doesn't really have to do with your website necessarily. It has to do with your name, address and phone number. Citations, reviews. This is a whole different strategy. But you can't pay to be in here unless you run ads. It's very limited that you can run ads to be in the local Map pack here. But historically and traditionally it's this just straight organic, which is all your SEO search engine optimization stuff. So that's the third section, which is the Map pac. And then the fourth section here is your on site SEO, which is your website search engine optimization. And if you see like Angie List, Yelp, these are all secondary ad sources. And then you can see that this company right here, Dry Masters, this is an actual company. And in their title tag, Two Rooms Carpet Cleaning, $70 in Newmarket, Maryland. So they're using the geotarget and the keywords inside of their title tags as well as in their meta description. So this would be optimized properly for SEO for this specific area. And so this is what your on site SEO. So it's a four section. So if you want to rank or be seen in all four of these sections, then you need to run Google local service ads, you need to run Google search ads, you need to do off site SEO and you also need to do on site SEO. And those are the four components of Google Search. Now the beauty of this is that these ads right here, once you get this dialed in with those numbers of how much things cost, it allows you to ramp up your business and scale it because you have customer acquisition cost dialed in based on how much does it cost to get a lead, how much does it cost to book that lead, your conversion percentage, that kind of stuff.
