In 2025, our average client grew their revenue 27%. And over the past six years, I've generated over $47 million in revenue for home service businesses. By the end of this video, you'll understand what old school marketing looks like, the massive shift that's coming in 2026, and how to prepare your business for the land grab that's already underway. I'm going to show you the old playbook, the new playbook, and a step by step process for AI to recommend your business instead of your competitors. Before we talk about the new stuff that you need to be doing in 2026, let's talk about the old stuff so that way you can identify and this is old school marketing versus what's shifting. And this stuff still is important, it's just fading away in 2026. So 80% of people still start their search for home service businesses on Google. And there's four sections of Google Search Engine results page that we want to make sure that we're dominating. First, Google Local Service Ads, second, Google Search Ads. Third, the map pack, and then fourth, on site SEO. What does on site SEO mean? It means creating service area pages, having Your title tag, H1, meta description all match up. Let me show you what that means. This stuff is still important when we talk about SEO for 2026, but it's the old school way of doing things. So for example, if someone searches for door installation in a specific city, you want to make sure that you're popping up in your LSAs, like this company Madison. We work with them, their map pack here because they're located around this area. And then also they have a service area page here for Delhi in particular, on their website we have these service area pages which you should still be doing this stuff. On that service area page you want to make sure that the title tag mentions Delhi, the metas, or the city that you want to target. The meta description mentions the city you want to target and then the H1 also mentions this. These are called service area pages. As you can see, they help you rank for these specific city keywords organically. This is SEO. You should be doing this. Obviously you should still be getting reviews. So that way you dominate the map pack as well. However, things are changing, still important, but it's no longer enough to actually rank your business. So here's a big shift. AI search, AEO and SEO is changing and we're going to talk about what AEO is next and also what you need to focus on from an SEO perspective. I'm going to show you this real quick though, because conversation and recommendation based searches are happening and these are different results. This is very, very important to highlight. So before someone's going to search H Vac repair near me. Okay, cool. You still get the same thing. LSAs, search ads, map pack, organic, the four parts. However, conversations are now happening on search and it's changing the way people are searching. And now instead of just searching for H Vac repair near me and getting a list and trying to decide, they're actually asking more questions. How much does H Vac repair near me actually cost? Notice the difference in results before you have the four sections. Now in more conversational search, you still have your local, your LSAs, but now you have this AI overview section. From a Google perspective, obviously ChatGPT doesn't even have ads, so they're not showing this stuff. But on Google itself it's changing search. And if we know 80% of people are going here and asking questions, then you can see it's shifting. All right, and what is it shifting to? This is AEO answer engine optimization. So search is shifting from lists of just a list like this, where you are trying to decide through this list, who should I contact, who has the best reviews, who can I message or book or call. It's shifting to answers. Instead of you trying to make the decision, it's going to try to give you the best answers possible. So this stat hits it nail on the head. The old Google search has four to five words, H Vac Repair near me. The new type of search is conversational. And ChatGPT searches have 347 words. People are searching, they're clicking the microphone and they're asking a bunch of questions. And search is fundamentally going to be shifting to conversational search. Consumers now search conversationally. They ask follow up questions. They want to know more than just look down a list and try to make a decision. And it's only going to get more and more. And this is the shift that's happening in 2026. So why does this matter? And how can you prepare your business? That's what we're going to be talking about next. First, AI selects businesses based off these things. Content, quality, helpful explanations, real expertise, trust, signals. And your website and brand is now training data. And I'm going to give you the framework of how you can actually position your business and show you real examples of this. This one I want to highlight though. Your website and brand is now training data. These large language models are being trained off of your business. So what can you do you can provide information to them. So that way you stand out as a subject matter expert and they trust you based off of your brand and the information that you're providing for. All right, so what should you be doing in 2026 to prepare for this and get ready for the shift? Still do all the normal SEO stuff, but this is the thing that's going to take it to the next level. One pricing page on your website, you should have a pricing page that talks about what prices are, what makes the price go up, what makes the price go down. You don't have to give away your entire price book, but what you want to do is stand out as the subject matter expert. The reason this is so important is because this exact keyword query here, H Vac repair near me, someone might search this, but then they're going to say, well, how much should I be paying for H Vac repair near me? Now you have some baseline things and then you can actually pull in results over here. Even further than that, there's a new thing that's coming out called Agentic Booking. Agentic Booking is where Google is going on OpenTable and Resi and it's finding actual reservations and prices for restaurants to book reservations for people they're asking it for, hey, can you find an H Vac company near me? And I want them available tomorrow and I want to know what the price will be for them to come out. All of this is going to happen in 2026 and you have to position your business to be found. So a pricing page allows for transparency and it allows Google or whatever other platform people are searching on to find that information to provide the best results. The second thing is an estimate calculator. This shows that you are easy to work with. You're not trying to hide things from people. Answer a couple questions, we'll get you a price. So a simple estimate calculator that you could build. We recommend having three things. One qualifier here, whether it's residential, commercial, something like that, maybe the type of home or square feet. And then one other qualifying question. They give you some information. You click get an estimate and then you get an estimate. This one that we built for this company. So you get their contact information, you ask a couple questions, you get them a ballpark price of X to X and then everyone's happy and you get the lead. It's great for conversions. It also builds trust, it moves the ball forward for your clients, and it also builds trust with AI platforms that you actually care about the customer experience and you're not trying to go back and forth on a call and playing phone tag with people. The third one is online scheduling. I mentioned about agentic booking, but this is going to be huge. Right Now I mentioned OpenTable and Resi Imagine, Calendly, Jobber, Online Booking Service, Titan, Housecall Pro, Workiz, whatever other platform that you're using. All these platforms are going to tie in. They already tie into your Google business profile. Imagine 2026. They're all going to be tied in basically up here on your website. You want to have something that says schedule your visit goes to some online scheduling and then people can schedule right there. Next is real photos. At this point, if you don't have real photos on your website, you're losing tons of trust with people that are just coming to your website. But on top of that, you haven't trained. These platforms, Google, ChatGPT, Facebook, Instagram, all these platforms that you're real, that you have real trucks, that you have real people out there doing work. This is why real photos is so important. Stock photos. Every single person know what stock photos is. And when someone goes to your website, all they want to know is is this a real company that can do real stuff? So add real photos to your website and this part is going to be the secret sauce that I'm going to give you the playbook of, which is getting frequently asked questions from real questions that are happening in your business on your website, inside of your social media, inside of your content on your website to answer questions. And I'm going to show you this is the secret sauce part to this real long form, helpful content. And here's how. All right, we have a playbook that we use at Flash called the Call to Content Playbook. Pause. We have a playbook at Flash that we call the Call to Content Playbook. That playbook takes your real calls that are happening and turns it into real content on your website. So that way your subject matter experts, your CSRs or salespeople that are talking on the phone answering real questions, take that knowledge and turn it into content that's unique to your business. And what you want to do is pull those transcripts, identify the questions that your customers are asking, create blog content, frequently asked questions, videos. We also turn these into short form videos as well. Here's an exact example case study of how this actually works. So here's a company, they got a call 8 minutes and 47 seconds. You can see the transcript here. They ask a bunch of questions. So what we did was we took this transcript and we turned it into a blog post on their website. We turned it into this blog post here. Fixing overflow, fascia rot and bad drainage before winter hits in this specific area. If my gutters overflowed long enough to rot the fascia, does everything need replacing? That's the question. Okay. That they said on this call. So what we did was this is a tool called Bright Local Local Search Result Checker. I typed in that exact query. If my gutters overflowed long enough to rot the fascia, does everything need replacing? And I typed in the location that this business is at so I could see a real example of someone searching this search term in this area. And I can see the exact result for the first page of that query. Let me show you how this learned because this is exactly the 2026 playbook. If my gutters overflow long enough to rot the fascia, does everything need replacing? Now you get this AI overview, right? You get this type of thing. You don't get any other of these. You don't get LSAs, you don't get search ads, you don't get map pack. You don't get organic search unless you keep scrolling down. You get an AI overview. And notice number one up here, Gutter experts, Reliable gutter repair services. When you click on this look, it actually highlights it here for you and it shows the actual query. This is why it's so important because search is shifting from just four to five keywords to this conversational and you need this call to Content Playbook to take real information and plug it into your business to create content on a flywheel. Next, Social content is now a ranking factor in 2026. If you do not do social content, you are going to miss out on the big rush that's happening in the next two to three years. Let me show you Whitespark. Put out this report and this guy Darren, he owns Whitespark, he interviewed a bunch of experts when it comes to local SEO specifically. And he put out this, this map right here. He said ranking factors, group change over time. I just want to highlight a couple real quick. Google business profile. You can see 2018 to 2026. Here's a shift. It was going up, down, back up again. You can see review signals is still at the most it's ever been. So obviously get reviews. But I want to highlight this one piece. Look over here. Social signals. Before creating social media, content was just about likes and shares. No one cared. Look at this 2026. It's now a signal that people are saying is important. Why? Because Large language models. AI search is built off of content. And when you can answer real questions from your customers via content, you stand out as the expert. And that carries a lot of weight in the next shift that's coming for marketing. By the way, all the stuff that I'm saying, it probably sounds like a lot. It's like, oh my gosh, I need to do this. I need to build this playbook, I need to get these calls, I need to create this content, I need to, you know, do videos. This is exactly what my business does. If you're over a million dollars in revenue and you're like, hey, I don't really know how to do this and I need a marketing company to come alongside me to do all the right stuff now, but also prepare me for the future. You can go to flash consulting.com, set up a meeting and we'll help you out. All right, so now you can see ranking factors are changing. Social content is important. One other cherry on top. Google just indexed in 2025 over the summer. They said, hey, we're indexing this content. Let me show you right here. There's all these results. There's images, maps, shopping videos, and then short videos, door installation, deli, and it's pulling exact short form video specifically from this local area. Short videos is being indexed on Google. Very, very important. All right, so here's the shift. Old playbook, SEO ads, LSAs, reviews, not bad. But if you don't have a company that's preparing you for the future, you're going to be left just like the yellow pages of old. The new playbook is brand AI training, helpful content, short form content. Turning your actual subject matter experts into content for your business. So that way you're ready for this conversational search that's going to happen. All right, so what's a good action plan for you? Add a pricing page to your website. Upload real photos, create weekly short form videos. Answering questions about your business that you would normally get inside of your sales process. Turn your customer questions into content. If you have call transcripts, turn them into content for your website and build topical authority. As the expert, obviously do all the same stuff that you've been doing for SEO and ads and all that stuff. Layer this on top to prepare your business. If you don't know what to do in the description, I'll put an AI readiness checklist. There's no put in your email or anything. It's literally a Google Doc. Click it, make a copy and you can start using it today. It'll walk you through what to do now, what to do weekly, what to do monthly to prepare your business for AI search. Another big shift coming in 2026is home service businesses building AI avatars. And I made a whole video about that here. And if that one's not out yet, you can check this one out.
