I've been working with home service businesses for the past 10 years. And the number one lesson that I learned is that most companies don't have a process to manage their leads. What I found is that these companies that don't have a lead management process are literally missing out on tens of thousands of dollars because they're not following up with their leads and pushing them through their sales funnel. When I was director of business development at a $3 million home service business, all the leads would get funneled into an Outlook email. They'd print them out and stick them next to them on the desk. And as they went through and followed up with them, the they would put a check mark next to them. They would get 50 leads a day. The next day they go through and they check a mark as well. The problem is that there's no real automation or management process in here. Most companies struggle with this. What they should be doing is to put all of those leads into some type of an automation or lead management process. So that way the leads are getting followed up automatically and you're not relying on some manual process to call them to check a box, that kind of stuff.
