Home-service companies often mark every lead as coming from Google, killing the accuracy of their reports. Phil Risher fixed this by putting different phone numbers on each ad platform. When a customer calls, a whisper message tells the rep which platform they came from, so the lead gets logged correctly.

I had 4 CSRs and they would all put in lead source Google. So when I went to pull the report at the end of the month to figure out what was working or what wasn't, everything said found us on Google. The way that I fixed this was I set up call tracking numbers. The call tracking numbers went on our different ad platforms, and anytime that someone called those numbers, there was a whisper message that said, this is a call from Google Ads, this is a call from Yelp, this is a call from Angie. Then it alerted our CSRs to correct the lead source and put the right lead source in. So when I pulled the report at the end of the month, I knew exactly where the jobs were coming from based off of the calls that were coming in. Now, a lot of people don't know how to set up call tracking numbers, which is why I use CallRail, and I would recommend using CallRail if you're going to do call tracking numbers specifically for home service businesses. It's the easiest way to set them up. I reached out to them, I got a link for you, I'll put it down in the comments.
