All right, in this video, we're going to get into Neil Patel's top five digital marketing trends for 2024. If you don't know who Neil Patel is, he is one of the top marketers in the world, in my opinion. And we're going to specifically look at his top five strategies and go through for local service businesses. How is this going to impact your business in 2024 and how can you leverage what he's saying? A lot of times he's talking about large, huge, billion dollar companies from marketing trends, but we're going to distill that down for local service businesses and discuss strategies to help you grow your business. If you like content like that, be sure to hit like and subscribe. That's what we talk about here on this channel. And let's get right into this. All right, let me make myself small. Awesome. So as I mentioned, Neil Patel Top 5 Digital Market Trends for 2024. If you don't know Neil Patel, he's one of the best SEO people and marketing people in the world, in my opinion. All right, so the first thing that he says is that companies will create podcasts over blogs. So what does this mean? Basically, the written word is still important because SEO. Even more important though is verbal and creating podcasts and that kind of stuff. So what does this mean for businesses specifically? I want to just look at this section right here, which is when creating a podcast, there are two main ways to get popular. And if you're not doing these things for your business, here's some areas of opportunity for you. The first one is email blast. So what he says is, yeah, you create a block, you create a podcast. Then you send out an email blast to your entire network or database and you say, hey, this podcast just came out, Go listen to it. What does this do? It bumps it up right away. So it shows the algorithms like, yeah, this is popular content. Cause all these people are listening and watching it. And more importantly, it allows them to share it. And it starts kind of the trend of this content being shown. So what does it mean for your business if you're not doing an email marketing or you don't have any way to do an email blast, that's something that you would want to implement in your business, not necessarily just to share your podcast or your blog, but to share anything. We have content that we've made before about how to do newsletters, but the four things are you want to share maybe a recent social post, you want to share another service that you offer, you want to share Like a content, like a blog post or something relevant that's happening with your business. And then you want to share like a review or case study or testimonial. And you can do different variations inside of that. You could share something about your local area, like five things to do in Washington D.C. in December, for example. But inside of your newsletter, that's what you want to do. So email blast is important. And then ad swaps. Now, for your business, you might not have ad swaps as traditional podcasting would, but maybe think of how you can leverage other people's network or other people's customer base. For example, if you do painting and someone else is an electrician, how can you work together to layer in B2B strategies? And we've talked about on that on this channel. But these are two things that are really important that they do tie into podcast and blogging. But more importantly, it's things that you should be doing for your business, regardless if you do podcasts or blogging. All right, number two, companies will spend time on the less popular social networks. Basically, what he's saying is that just because everyone uses x 6.8 billion users doesn't mean that you should sleep on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram or YouTube. Now what does this mean for your local service business? Personally, what I believe is that Google is king when it comes to local service business. Your Google business profile. And the most important reason. Reason why is because people are searching on there for products or services that you offer on a daily basis. So instead of going on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest or X to create demand for your service, you can use Google that already is capturing the demand. So people are already searching on Google for Carbon, Clean, near, near me, H vac service, near me. And you can focus on having them select you instead of other people, which is called search engine optimization. You can also run ads on Google and that kind of stuff. If you've completely maximized everything that you can do, or you're like, hey, I'm doing everything, it's just taking some time. What I would recommend is to creating localized content on these platforms, whether it's Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok, you also want to think about where your target audience is. Is your target audience on Facebook and Instagram? Yes, probably. Do you want to be omnichannel and post on all these platforms? Sure. A lot of businesses that we talk to, they're kind of all over the place. They don't really. They don't really have a marketing strategy or social strategy. So we always just focus on your Google business profile, get Google reviews and then SEO. All right, number three, marketing modes will become non existent other than brands. This is extremely important for local service businesses. And it's something that I harp on a lot, which is a lot of times people are going back and forth from different ad strategies. So they're saying, hey, I want to use, I'm running Angie ads, I'm running Angie leads, I'm running Yelp, I'm running Tum Tac, I'm running, you name it, right? They're jumping all over the place, Bark all the, there's a bunch of different ones, you name it, they're all over the place. And so what happens is you're chasing ad channel to ad channel instead of actually building a brand in the local market. So what happens, this is really important, I actually shared this on my LinkedIn is that if you were to look, you can look at this on your Google Analytics if you have that. But your percentage of brand queries by revenue size. So what he's saying is that if you're a million to 9 million, which even if you're probably, if you're less than a million, this is probably even lower for you. But basically what he's saying is that out of the 100% of the search queries that happen with search queries are like carpet cleaning near me, rug cleaning near me, H Vac near me. Like all those kinds of searches that are, that are not branded searches. Branded searches are when they search for Flash Consulting or your company by name. What he's saying is that 1 million to 9 million 12.5% of the searches are branded searches. And you can see that the billion dollar companies have 68% of the branded searches. For example, people don't search for, you know, drink for the holidays, that's cold and refreshing, right? They'll search for Coca Cola, for example. Or they don't search for laptop computer, that's really expensive, that can do all my marketing stuff. No, they search for Apple because people know those brands. So what he's getting at here is, and specifically for local search businesses, in my opinion is we need to focus on building a solid brand. And how can you do that? There's a million different ways that we make content about this. But basically you want to make sure that you're getting solid Google reviews. You want to make sure that you're doing stuff in your local community. You want to make sure that you're top of mind so those newsletters and that kind of stuff, you want to make sure that people think about you. He has a quote in here that says, follow the rule of seven, which when people interact with your brand seven times, they're more likely to evangelize you and promote you. The way you get someone to see your brand seven times, by being everywhere. Leverage all social channels, podcasting, blogging, even your email list. Basically what I just said is you want to be everywhere and you want to be the go to company. So that way, when people search for something, they don't search for carpet cleaning near me, they search for Flash carpet cleaning. And that's the goal. Or when someone asks, hey, does anyone know a company that does this? You get recommended. This is very, very important. Number four, you'll change the way you write content. If you're not writing content or creating content yet, you should be creating content. And that's why you may work with a marketing company or someone that's going to be creating content for you. What he's basically getting at in this section is that majority of people are starting to use AI and AI combined with humans. He recommends AI combined with humans. And that's what we do at Flash, and that's what we recommend, is you don't just leave it up to AI because you could get the same thing that everyone else is getting. But more importantly, as a local service business, you have a unique story. Just because you do carpet cleaning doesn't mean that you also do tile and grout cleaning. Or you may specialize in stair runners, but you don't specialize in, you know, something else. And so your specific story is what you want to tell here. My recommendation when it comes to content specifically and changing the way that you write content is a book called they Ask youk Answer. And what I would recommend doing is thinking about the content that you're creating and how can you leverage this content to be specific to your target audience. So what does this mean? It means create content that people are asking about. So when it comes to carpet cleaning, we're just, we're using that this time. Let's say you're creating content about, does it make sense to clean, you know, just the foot traffic or the entire area? Or how often should you create, should you clean your carpet in a specific geographical location or right now we're in the, we're in winter. So let's talk about if you're in a snowy area, when people put salt brine down to prevent slipping, what happens when that gets on your hardwood Floors. This is the type of content that people are asking about, that they're trying to figure out a solution for. So you want to create content that people are asking about. Don't just ask AI like, hey, what's a good blog topic for carpet cleaning? Because it's going to give you a million different things. And one good way to do this is like listen to your calls, ask your customers. You can also use Google search console to see the queries that people are searching back to that branded thing. You can see the queries. So then you create content off those queries, which is what we do. But I would definitely recommend thinking about the content that you're creating and using the they ask you answer framework. And last but not least, marketing will no longer focus on one region. And this is very, very interesting for local service businesses because and I have a very interesting perspective on this in that this, in my opinion is actually going to be hurting a lot of local service businesses and the ones that are, that are set up properly, it's going to help them thrive. Why do I believe this is? Because right now in the market, from what we're seeing with the companies that we work with and just overall vibe that we're getting is that there's a lot of conglomerates that are buying up companies and building these massive behemoths. And what happens is that they see the potential in a less competitive market by building a ton of these different and buying and building these ton of these different businesses and just being like everywhere. But what happens for the local market is that a lot of these companies miss out on the opportunity to market locally and to be that brand and that pillar in the community. And so a lot of the companies that we work with are those branded pillar companies in the community or they want to be them. And so we're helping them build into that. And so I really believe that just because there is a blue ocean out there of tons of region, whether that's nationally, internationally, state, county, you know, whatever is in your specific area. I truly believe that there's a ton of opportunity in you leveraging your story and your brand in your local market and being the local neighborhood company that is going to stand out against these big conglomerates. Let's take an example of this, like a true green or one of these franchise companies that comes in being the local company in your area, the local lawn care provider in your area, and being the neighbor and knowing the literally the soil because your kids have played on the turf at the local high school goes a lot farther than TruGreen coming in and saying we have this proprietary thing, you know. So we went through these top five things. I hope that this was beneficial for you. If you like content like that, please be sure to hit like and subscribe.
