Phil Risher posted a viral video of his daughter eating spaghetti that got 170,000 views and 700 followers, but zero leads for his home-service business. His next video got 200 views and two qualified leads. Virality doesn't matter if it attracts the wrong people.

So as a business owner doing marketing for home service business, I create content about how to grow a home service business. Those videos get like maybe 200 to 2,000 views depending on the platform, and we get leads from it. But I said, I wanna see if I can go viral. So it took me 20 posts and I went viral. I had 170,000 views and it was a video of my daughter. I had just made some spaghetti. She was crushing it, and I took out my phone and I said, how's the food? And she said, that boy cooks. It was like a 10-second video and I put a little song over it that was like an Italian song. But guess what? It was all like older, women who don't own home service businesses who were liking it and commenting on it, and I got probably 700 new followers from that. None of them were my target audience, and I got no customers from it. The next day I posted a video that got 200 views and I got 2 leads from it that were my target audience. So it's not just about like creating viral content because who cares? It's about creating content that's gonna get you leads and customers coming in the door.
