Neil Patel, who's probably one of the best marketers for SEO, specifically put out his top five trends for 2024 for businesses. And one of the trends was that percentage of brand queries by revenue. Basically what he's saying is that majority of people are searching for near me type searches for local service businesses opposed to branded searches. And so what he recommends is to build a moat around your business for a brand. For example, he mentions Jordan shoes just because Jordan shoes and Adidas, what's the difference? Obviously it's just a Jordan logo. And so what he says that if you're 1 million to 10 million, 12.5% of your searches are brand searches. So the other 90% are not. Whereas companies that are billion dollar companies, you know, think Coke and Apple and all those companies, 70% of their search, 68% of their searches are branded searches. So what does this mean for local service businesses? It takes seven times for people to contact, to evangelize about you and to know your business. So you have to be everywhere building a brand.
