Phil Risher argues that AI will not kill marketing. He says AI makes marketers' jobs easier—helping with keyword research, content creation, and idea generation—but human operators must direct AI and maintain a business pulse to know what to market and when. Therefore AI is a useful tool that will augment rather than replace marketers.

Will AI kill marketing? Here's my $0.02 on it and what I think is going to happen. Artificial intelligence is making marketers jobs easier. It's helping with keyword research. It's helping with creating content. It's helping with creating content that's even better than what's currently out there. And it's also giving you ideas on things that you can market. With that being said, there still needs to be someone behind the scenes pulling the levers of AI telling it what to do. On top of that, you also have to have a pulse in your business to know what's needed at what time. So just because you have this tool doesn't mean that the tool is going to be able to do the job. Just like in your service business, you may have tools that cannot perform tasks. It helps you do your task better, but it's not going to replace you actually doing the task. And so that's why I believe that AI is good. It's not going to take away marketing forever.
