Stop trying to talk to her about the difficult topics. Start trying to build a relationship with her and just be able to talk about other things. Right? And if you can, learn to become a listener instead of a talker, a safe person for her. Like, we teach all these skills in our invisible interventionists, like reflective listening, labeling, picking out how to effectively confront someone, all those kind of things. You gotta be a better listener. And mostly, don't make every conversation heavy. If you can train someone that every conversation isn't gonna be difficult or heavy, then they'll be more open to talking.
