Short YouTube clip (Amber Hollingsworth) offering advice to a speaker whose husband has an addiction and uses gaslighting/provocation. Amber explains that provoking is a manipulation tactic used to deflect blame, describes the dynamic (provocation → target appears 'hysterical' → attacker later cites this as proof), and suggests calling out the process calmly and directing the listener to a playlist for more on manipulation.

My husband has an addiction, and he is constantly trying to gaslight me. I feel like he's purposefully trying to provoke me. So, Amber, my question is, how do I disempower it?
Unfortunately, gaslighting and provoking someone are really common manipulation tactics for someone who has an addiction. What they're trying to do here is obviously deflect the problem off of them and onto you. And when they provoke you and they get you to act hysterical, yell, scream, defend yourself, or act like a secret spy, then you. You're only giving them the evidence that they're later going to throw in your face to say, see, you're the crazy one. Look how you're acting now. Of course, there are several ways you can deal with this. One thing you could do is just call out the process of what's happening. You can calmly say something like, yeah, I know I have some issues of my own to deal with, but right now we're talking about this. If you want to learn more on how to deal with these types of manipulative behaviors, check out my playlist on manipulation. I will link it below.
