From an individual perspective, those first few weeks, they're not going to be easy. You're going to feel rough. You probably will feel, even physically, not great. Your sleep is going to be a mess. You're going to be cranky and emotional, and you're going to be kind of hanging on by the skin of your teeth, as I like to say. But it won't last forever. What's going on here is there's a lot of brain chemicals normalizing. That's the biggest thing that's happening. And while that's happening, you're also trying to learn how to live life clean and sober. You're also trying to do deal with any messes that you've made while you are in active addiction, whether they're like, career messes, school relationships. So you're dealing with all of that while not being your best self. And that is no easy feat.
