Short YouTube coaching clip by Raele Altano introducing a simple, repeatable "1-3-3" speaking exercise: pick an object and describe it three ways (appearance, origin, meaning) three times per day (morning, midday, night) to stay familiar with your voice and build expressive confidence. Target audience includes remote workers, stay-at-home parents, introverts, caregivers, and others with few daily conversational opportunities.

Oh my gosh, you guys. I was working with a coaching client yesterday and I shared a communication exercise with them that I knew I had to share here with you all too. If you don't speak a lot during the day, for whatever reason, I want you to try this exercise to stay familiar with your voice and feel confident expressing yourself. It's so easy, so quick, and it's actually kind of fun. Pick an object around you in your immediate environment and describe it in three ways. How it looks, where you got it or where you came from, and what it means to you. Do this in the morning, at lunchtime, and at night. It can even be the same object. Just choose three different things to describe it if you end up picking that object again. So for example, I see my son's toy truck. It's a red truck. We got it at FAO Schwartz and he loves it. It's his favorite toy right now. This helps you think on your feet, use your descriptive skills and just helps you hear yourself talk. So good. If you work remotely and you don't have co workers around you or you don't have many calls, great. If you're a stay at home mom and maybe your baby isn't conversing yet, perfect. If you take care of pets or maybe someone elderly or sick who isn't very talkative. Whatever your reason might be, this gives you something concrete to look at and describe. It's easy and it's measurable. Instead of saying just talk to yourself and you'll feel better. So. So I really hope this is helpful for you if you find yourself in a situation like this. I'm well with Rael, your communication coach. Let me know if you try this and how it works out for you and let me know what other exercises you might want next.
