You know what I realized the other day? The things we as a society ask single people when we're making small talk are things we would never ask someone who is in a relationship or someone who's married, for example. So how's your love life going? Often do we really ask people how their marriage is going after that initial newlywed phase? Usually never. Or are you still single? Seems totally okay to say, but are you still married? Is a question that we just don't ask. It doesn't really feel right to ask non single people these types of questions. So why do we think it's okay to ask single people? We need to do better about asking the people, people who are single in our lives, questions other than the ones that only relate to their relationship status. It's 2023. We can do better. Let me know if you want some suggested alternatives. And if there are things that you like to talk about that do not relate to relationship status with your single friends, drop them in the comments. I think other people would love to hear them and get some ideas and suggestions. Bye.
