Oh this is a good one. As always, here are a few different options. The first option keeps things very light, non confrontational and vague. I guess no one here will ever know if my necklace is real or not and change a subject or find a way to gracefully exit the conversation. Second option takes it up a notch. You can put it back on them and ask may I ask why you're asking that here? And if they say oh I was just curious, you can ask a follow up question and say well what is it that you were curious about? The third option is as direct as you can possibly be. You can calmly say that's not a question that I think is necessary for me to answer right now and pause for a second to let that really sink in. These are a variety of responses depending on the circumstance and the context of the conversation and who the person is to you. Hope they were helpful.
